Adele halts London concert several times, calls for security out of concern for well-being of one fan

During her first public concert in five years, pop superstar Adele reportedly stopped her performance four times out of concern for the well-being of fans in the audience.

Video uploaded to Twitter depicted the concerned singer and songwriter halting the music at one point, for example, to alert security that someone in the crowd needed assistance as she pointed into the vast gathering at London’s British Summer Time Hyde Park Festival on Friday.

Twitter user @Kieran_sw, who shared the footage, wrote that “Just wanna say mad respect to Adele for stopping the show and making a scene when she thought someone was in trouble and needed help from security. That was a crowd of 65,000+ and she still did it. It really is that easy.”

The winner of 15 Grammy Awards among other entertainment industry honors, Adele also reportedly sent water to some fans in the front rows who had waited up to seven hours to gain entry to the venue.

According to the Page Six gossip section of the New York Post, an emotional Adele was moved to tears upon taking the stage after the long absence.

“My God, I’m back at home. It’s so strange to be in front of a crowd again. I get so nervous before each show but I love being up here,” the Londoner admitted to the hometown audience, Rolling Stone magazine reported about her return.

She appeared to briefly get choked up when singing her hit “Hello,” telling her enthusiastic fans that “I’m so happy to be here.”

She performed 18 songs, including three new hits, in the two-hour set. Adele, 34, released her fourth studio album in November 2021.

Adele’s “diligence to safety comes after at least 10 fans died during the mass casualty that occurred at Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival in November. Adele is not the only artist to prioritize safety at her shows as Doja Cat, Billie Eilish and Pharrell Williams have made a point to stop their shows when fans need assistance,” Fox News recalled.

“In January, Adele canceled her Las Vegas residency the day before she was set to debut the show at Caesars Palace,” FNC added.

That postponement was apparently primarily the result of production issues. It is undetermined at this point as to whether she will ever set up shop in Vegas.

After a second, Hyde Park Performance on Saturday, there are no other Adele live shows scheduled for the balance of the year, although that could obviously change. Prior to Friday, Adele last public performance occurred when she headlined at London’s Wembley Stadium in June 2017.

For celebrity watchers, “Top Gun” star Tom Cruise, who is celebrating his 60th birthday on Sunday, was in attendance at Adele’s homecoming concert.

Back in February, Adele got into trouble with the woke cohort, but that controversy has since subsided.
