NBC News: Jan. 6 hearings not only failed to move Nevada voters but ‘deepened fealty toward Trump’

The grand spectacle of the J6 select committee and its choreographed show trial has not only failed to convince Americans that former President Donald J. Trump led an attempted coup against the government but is having the exact opposite effect with some voters.

NBC News caught up with voters in the critical swing state of Nevada to put a finger on the pulse of real people and the results while likely shocking to the coastal cultural elite in the media, aren’t exactly surprising with many seeing the Soviet-style kangaroo court as exactly what it is, the third Democrat impeachment only with hardcore RINO Trump haters Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger as “bipartisan” window dressing.

“It wasn’t the noose hanging outside the Capitol that upset them, the chants of “hang Mike Pence” or the testimony of the president’s former attorney general,” the outlet lamented. “Instead, it was ‘Washington politicians’ and ‘the media establishment,’ several voters interviewed said, who they saw as trying to stack the deck against the former president.”

“It might as well be impeachment No. 3 for Donald Trump,” Reno retiree Judy Cameron said after voting in the state’s GOP primaries last week. “This is their big push to get Donald Trump off the ballot.”

She was one of over two dozen voters in the state’s two most populous counties, Clark and Washoe who “found that the Jan. 6 committee hearings that captivated Washington not only failed to persuade these voters but pushed them in the opposite direction.”

“Among this sampling of Republicans, including in Washoe, the swingiest county in one of the nation’s swingiest states, it has hardened partisan views, spawned more conspiracies or deepened fealty toward Trump,” according NBC News.

“It’s all political and designed to try to prevent Donald Trump from running for president again,” said Clark County resident Tom Berenato who twice voted for Trump.

“You’ve got the liberal mass media, completely controlled with a narrative that’s sent out to all of them at about 4 a.m. in the morning,” said Donald Fossum who the outlet caught up with while he was rallying for Senate GOP candidate Sam Brown in Reno. “That’s why you can read their lips on your screen; they’re all saying the same thing.”

Conservative voter John Roberts was skeptical of former AG William Barr’s testimony, saying he “came to a conclusion before ever looking at the evidence,”

“I found that really strange,” he said.

According to NBC News, “When a reporter asked the group if they were persuaded by testimony the day before of insufficient voter fraud in 2020, one of the voters who did not give his name pulled his head back: “You mean on the TV?” Then waved his hand in disgust,” not exactly a sign that Nancy Pelosi’s hand-picked committee is winning the hearts and minds of voters.

Twitter users reacted to the NBC report.

Democrats and their allies may have badly miscalculated by dragging out the process in order to feature it before the midterm elections now that the ruinous effects of President Joe Biden’s policies are hitting voters hard, including record gas prices, punishing inflation, predictions of food shortages and a looming recession that will inflict further pain on ordinary Americans who have more important things to worry about than the J6 committee farce.
