Actor Matthew McConaughey has given his seal of approval to the unconstitutional bipartisan gun control package cooked up by both Democrat and Republican senators.
The deal was announced on Sunday with ten Republican senators betraying their base to seal the deal. The reaction was swift, condemning them for the move and demanding that the senators be primaried over the abridgment of Second Amendment rights.
The legislation praised by McConaughey includes the implementation of more Red Flag laws, an enhanced review process for people who want to purchase firearms who are under the age of 21, stronger penalties for straw purchases of firearms, further funding for school resource officers, an expansion of mental health programs in schools, and an expansion of mental health services for children and families.
“For the first time in 30 years, ‘something’ has happened. The Senate has agreed on a bipartisan framework of policies that can enhance gun responsibility in America and save lives,” McConaughey said, spouting leftist propaganda while cheering gun control.

McConaughey reflected on speaking with a senator last week where he asked him, “What’s the best change you can imagine?”
“Something,” the senator replied to the actor.
“‘Something’ has been done in the effort to stop some of the deranged individuals that, with every horrific act, abuse and hijack the Second Amendment,” McConaughey proclaimed throwing every American’s Second Amendment rights under the political leftist bus. “‘Something’ has moved that we hope can help deliver on our shared effort to make the loss of so many lives matter.”
“I do offer a firm handshake and a sincere ‘thank you’ to the members on both sides who came together and laid out this framework that can advance gun responsibility and save lives,” he continued.

But as is the case with most on the left, a little gun control just isn’t enough for McConaughey.
“Let’s recognize that today’s announcement doesn’t mean we have a solution, but it does support more responsible gun ownership. There is still a lot of hard work for both parties, so let’s continue to encourage everyone at the table to act in good faith and give them our support to get this job done,” he said.
The gun control package was announced by Sens. Chris Murphy (D-CT), John Cornyn (R-TX), Thom Tillis (R-NC), Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ), Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Roy Blunt (R-MO), Cory Booker (D- NJ), Richard Burr (R-NC), Bill Cassidy (R-LA), Susan Collins (R-ME), Chris Coons (D-DE), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Martin Heinrich (D-NM), Mark Kelly (D-AZ), Angus King (I-ME), Joe Manchin (D-WV), Rob Portman (R-OH), Mitt Romney (R-UT), Debbie Stabenow (D-MI), and Pat Toomey (R-PA).
“Today, we are announcing a commonsense, bipartisan proposal to protect America’s children, keep our schools safe, and reduce the threat of violence across our country. Families are scared, and it is our duty to come together and get something done that will help restore their sense of safety and security in their communities,” the senators declared in a statement.
“Our plan increases needed mental health resources, improves school safety and support for students, and helps ensure dangerous criminals and those who are adjudicated as mentally ill can’t purchase weapons. Most importantly, our plan saves lives while also protecting the constitutional rights of law-abiding Americans. We look forward to earning broad, bipartisan support and passing our commonsense proposal into law,” the statement added.
McConaughey gave an impassioned speech at the White House last week calling for gun control.

“We need background checks,” McConaughey proclaimed. “We need to raise the minimum age to purchase an AR-15 rifle to 21. We need a waiting period for those rifles. We need Red Flag laws and consequences for those who abuse them.”
“We are in a window of opportunity right now that we have not been in before. A window where it seems like real change, real change can happen,” he said, sounding more like a leftist politician than an actor.

None of the 10 Republicans who signed onto the bill are up for re-election this year — and four are retiring. I expect the remaining six are hoping you forget by the time the next election rolls around.
If he calls himself a “Republican” then we don’t need this “type” of Republican! We have enough RINO’s already. In fact we are trying to get rid of them and may lose a few in the next election.
