Ted Cruz accuses Dems, White House of ‘actively encouraging’ the ‘attempted murder’ of Kavanaugh

Democrats have routinely proven that lacking morals makes one incapable of taking the moral high ground. As such, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz (R) slammed elected officials from the left who he says have “actively encouraged” crimes including murder.

The accusations from the Texas lawmaker came one day after a 26-year-old had traveled from California with intent to kill Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. The suspect had called 911 on himself and reported he was spurred by the pending decision on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization that could see Roe v. Wade overturned.

“We saw just yesterday a man arrested for attempted murder of a Supreme Court justice. That crime was actively encouraged by elected Democrats,” Cruz said while attending a press event with the group Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising (PAAU) that is seeking an investigation into the deaths of five nearly full-term babies they allege were either illegally aborted or left to die after birth.

“I think, unfortunately for the left, the law is viewed as optional,” the senator argued. “If they disagree with the law, they refuse to enforce it. Whether it is the federal criminal law that protects these children or whether it is the federal criminal law that protects Supreme Court justices.”

“Chuck Schumer went to the steps of the Supreme Court and threatened the justices,” Cruz said referencing a 2020 speech made by Senate Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) where the Democrat spoke in front of the Supreme Court at a time when justices heard the case of June Medical Services v. Russo, a challenge to Louisiana law requiring abortion providers to have admitting privileges at a hospital within 30 miles of their abortion facility.

“I want to tell you Gorsuch,” Schumer said including Justice Neil Gorsuch in his perceived threat, “and I want to tell you Kavanaugh. You have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price. You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.”

“And even today,” Cruz went on, “the Department of Justice has not arrested the protesters that are violating criminal law on its face because the president and the attorney general agree with their politics.”

“The White House actively encouraged protesters to go to the home of Supreme Court justices, despite the fact that…there’s a federal criminal prohibition on doing so while a court case is pending – the only time that I’m aware of where the White House, literally from the White House press room, has encouraged the ongoing commission of a felony,” he explained.

Then-White House press secretary Jen Psaki had said at the onset of the protests in the wake of the leaked decision on Dobbs, “So I know that there’s an outrage right now I guess about protests that have been peaceful to date, and we certainly continue to encourage that outside of judges’ homes and that’s the president’s position.”

“Well, the law is meant to be applied regardless of party,” Cruz contended before later adding, “The left is far too willing to encourage violence when it suits their political ends.”

“Violence is always wrong, and we should enforce the criminal law against anyone committing violence, whether you agree with their politics or disagree with their politics. Violence is unacceptable. And in the case of these unborn children, the violence that was visited upon them, that took their lives, it is against the law,” he added before emphasizing, “And just because a politician disagrees with the law doesn’t mean he or she has the right to ignore it.”

  1. Dem’s whacked Scalia. They have no qualms at all about takin’ out Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, & Coney Barrett. The list of people the DEM’s have eliminated is very long, including JFK & RFK. Next up is likely Harris. That will get the the gun control they crave once they install Hillary, as VP & force Joe to step down. It’s comin’. Party of FIRST’s Hillary will not settle for 2nd woman president. If they do not honor their bargain, Hillary will expose it all & take them all down.

  3. Sorry Ted, but you can’t cure stupid. The left is just plain stupid. Unfortunately, we have to start fighting fire with fire. Honestly, the only way to stop the craziness, is to become as violent as they are.
