The one-sided Jan. 6 Committee hearings are now underway, and the husband of slain Air Force veteran Ashli Babbitt said his family will not rest until justice is served.
Aaron Babbitt, a former U.S. Marine, joined Greg Kelly on Newsmax TV Thursday, minutes ahead of opening night for the Democrats’ dog and pony show, and expected nothing short of “complete BS from the left.”
“Every time something big Jan. 6 pops up, I can count on two things: Complete BS from the left and then Ashli trends on Twitter,” Babbitt told the host of “Greg Kelly Reports.”
Kelly played a clip with cellphone footage from inside the Capitol which will never see the light of day at any Jan. 6 hearing. It depicted Ashli Babbitt appearing to strike a fellow protester in the face with a left jab after he broke a glass panel divider, indicating that she likely disapproved of the man’s actions.
“I see a punch,” he continued. “A lot of people see a punch. I’ve gotten a lot of blowback, saying there’s no way, but I know my wife’s a lefty. She’s a southpaw, and you can see his glasses pop off his face. So I see what everybody else sees.”
According to her husband, Babbitt “yelled, ‘Stop! Don’t! Wait!'” seconds before she was struck by the bullet fired by Capitol Police Lt. Michael Byrd.
The 35-year-old was unarmed and was reportedly taking video in the Capitol building that day, according to her husband.
“I saw her step around the room; I saw her walk around with the phone — to me that’s telling me she’s taking a video and she’s trying to play by the rules of being inside,” Aaron Babbitt told Kelly as he watched footage of the final moments of his wife’s life. “I mean, they let everybody in. They didn’t stop anybody from coming in, so that’s where I go with on that one.”
The Newsmax host also cut to NBC News’ interview with Byrd from August of 2021 where Byrd can be seen shifting his eyes away from interviewer Lester Holt each time he attempts to answer a question.
Aaron Babbitt, who intends to file a lawsuit against the Capitol Police for the wrongful death of his wife, says “not a day” goes by that he doesn’t miss her.
“She was [an] all-around American girl,” he said. “She loved serving her country, She loved moving back to California. She loved sports. She was my best friend, you know, and every day that goes by, there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t miss her.”
When asked if he intended to watch the sham proceedings, Babbitt told Kelly, “I’m going to go watch my grass grow.”
