‘I think she’s professionally ruined’: Megyn Kelly calls Amber Heard ‘unemployable’ following verdict

Amber Heard just can’t seem to catch a break these days.

First, her performance under cross-examination is universally panned. Then she loses her defamation case altogether and is forced to pay $15 million to Johnny Depp, which can’t feel good. And then there was that “whose feces were in the bed” controversy.

Now, Megyn Kelley contends that the actress is pretty much radioactive in Hollywood, and is likely to be “unemployable” for the foreseeable future.

Kelly made this prediction when speaking Wednesday to Floyd Abrams on his podcast “Speaking Freely.” After Abrams asked for Kelly’s reaction to the verdict, she made it clear that it seemed the jury just didn’t believe anything Heard had to say.

“It sounds to me like [the jury] didn’t believe anything,” Kelly said. “They didn’t believe her abuse claims, they didn’t believe anything she said, from the way I read this verdict form. But it could also just be that they caught her in so many lies that they just determined there wasn’t enough proof to support her claims and that it was more likely than not, she lied.”

“What becomes of [Heard] now,” Abrams then asked, “what do you think her future is, with the jury having come in so definitively as they did?”

“I think she’s professionally ruined for the time being,” Kelly answered, not mincing her words.

“I’m not sure whether she comes back from this, even in a town that’s very liberal and that would be much more in the knee jerk ‘I believe all women camp.’ The problem for her in Hollywood is not that a jury has said what it’s said. The problem for her in Hollywood is the nation watched this trial and they decided she was a liar and he was a truth-teller.”

“And yes, they were manipulated by the press,” Kelly added, “and yes, they saw YouTube mashups that the jury didn’t see and all of that, but they had the opportunity to decide with her in the court of public opinion if that’s how they were feeling and in watching her testimonial and so on—they didn’t.”

“So Hollywood, before it’s woke, these days, has got to be somewhat business-minded and capitalist,” Kelly continued.

“And there was already a petition with, I don’t know, between three and 4 million—maybe it’s more now—to get her booted out of the next ‘Aquaman’ sequel,” she added, in reference to a Change.org petition imaginatively titled “Remove Amber Heard from Aquaman 2,” which has currently acquired over 4.5 million signatures.

“They don’t want to see her,” Kelly summed up.

“She’s come to represent more than a woman who falsely accused a beloved actor. She’s come to represent all women who women and men feel have made false accusations. Now that’s unfair, but that’s where we are. And that’s why I say she’s probably unemployable.”

That’s bad news for Amber Heard—but if Megyn Kelly is right, it looks like she’s become the tear-stained face of what seems to be a long-overdue reaction to the excesses of the #MeToo movement.

  1. Oh I don’t know Me Again, you keep getting jobs in spite of your twisted actions.

  2. Speaking as someone that was actually abused by their ex-husband, none of her words were true for someone that HAS actually been abused – and I mean actually abused and was actually an accomplice in the fights. She picked words from other people that have been abused and tried to make them her own. Did they fight (not argue like most couples, but fight)? YES. Did it get physical (from both sides)? Definitely. Was she “abused” by JD? NO. But this case also wasn’t about abuse. It was about Defamation. And she DID do that. She has threatened many directors and producers over the years saying she would ruin them, and they caved to her ridiculousness because of the current MeToo climate. But they’ll not deal with her going forward. She is too much work/trouble for casting and directors and not an A-List actor anyway. She’s done with any “big” parts. She’s a bully and people are tired of bullies. SHE and her lies has been a problem for people that have truly been abused.

  3. All pub is good pub. She will make five million or more in her next movie.
