DOJ reportedly tees up another probe of Trump as endless witch hunt continues

The latest phase in the Democrats’ endless witch hunt has formally kicked off as the Biden Department of Justice has reportedly convened a grand jury to probe whether former President Donald J. Trump mishandled classified documents, bolstering the spirits of the demoralized left.

On Thursday, The New York Times reported that federal prosecutors have begun to lay the groundwork for a politically charged investigation into the likely 2024 Republican Party nominee if Trump chooses to run again, citing the usual anonymous sources.

According to the Times, “In recent days, the Justice Department has taken a series of steps showing that its investigation has progressed beyond the preliminary stages. Prosecutors issued a subpoena to the National Archives and Records Administration to obtain the boxes of classified documents, according to the two people familiar with the matter, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the ongoing investigation.”

“The authorities have also made interview requests to people who worked in the White House in the final days of Mr. Trump’s presidency, according to one of the people,” the outlet added.

The federal probe comes at a critical time for Democrats who are betting the farm that upcoming public hearings into the so-called “insurrection” on January 6, 2021, will draw public attention as Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s hand-picked special committee lays out the case to railroad the ex-POTUS with a preemptive strike against another White House run.

The matter of the 15 boxes of documents that were kept at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in South Florida isn’t exactly fresh news.

In February, The Washington Post initially reported on the documents which included “mementos, gifts, letters from world leaders, and other correspondence” that weren’t turned over to the National Archives as required by the Presidential Records Act.

“After the boxes were returned to the National Archives, its archivists found documents containing ‘items marked as classified national security information,’ the agency told Congress in February,” the Times reported. “In April, it was reported that federal authorities were in the preliminary stages of investigating the handling of the classified documents.”

At the time of the initial reporting, Trump scoffed at the notion that he had done anything wrong and that Democrats were fishing for another avenue of attack.

“The National Archives did not ‘find’ anything, they were given, upon request, Presidential Records in an ordinary and routine process to ensure the preservation of my legacy and in accordance with the Presidential Records Act. If this was anyone but ‘Trump,’ there would be no story here,” Trump said in a February 18, 2022 statement. “Instead, the Democrats are in search of their next Scam. The Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax turned out to be a Democrat inspired fake story to help Crooked Hillary Clinton. Impeachment Hoax #1, Impeachment Hoax #2, and so much more, has all been a Hoax.”

New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman who contributed to the latest bombshell made the sensational claim that White House toilets were clogged with flushed documents, a preview of her upcoming book that was pounced on by embittered sore loser Hillary Clinton to hawk merchandise and troll her hated nemesis.

The report that Biden’s DOJ is zeroing in on Trump comes at a time when pressure is mounting on Attorney General Merrick Garland to bring charges against the former president, a potentially incendiary move by the regime that has the support of Barack Obama’s “wingman” Eric Holder.

“I’m an institutionalist,” the former attorney general said recently. “My initial thought was not to indict the former president out of concern of what, how divisive it would be, but given what we have learned, I think that he probably has to be held accountable.”

According to the New York Times, “But the prosecutors’ moves in the documents case show that the Justice Department under Attorney General Merrick B. Garland is at least willing to examine a matter that may ultimately touch directly on the president’s conduct.”

“Democrats, anti-Trump Republicans and even President Biden have been frustrated with Mr. Garland over his apparent reticence to investigate Mr. Trump for his role in trying to overturn the 2020 election,” the Times reported. “Now, the decision to move forward with an investigation into the classified documents could draw the department even deeper into the country’s political tensions. Such investigations typically take at least a year, putting Mr. Garland on a path of potentially having to conclude it at the same time Mr. Trump is running for president again.”

  12. I wish we had a DOJ that was more competent than this inept president, but I don’t think we do at this time. This DOJ rules according to their politics, not the law, IMO.

  13. I hope when the GOP take the senate and house they will clean house at the DOJ and the FBI of the Biden sycophants. The Democrats have really shown their true colors these past few years. I hope their sycophant constituents see that.
