Corporate media-controlled narratives, radical activist-approved curricula in schools, and snowflakes seeking shelter in the form of social media echo chambers have proven that infringements on free speech are really targeting free thought, and the head of the new Disinformation Governance Board wants to help that process along.
It doesn’t seem like Nina Jankowicz can appear on screen without raising more concerns about the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) foray into “disinformation” monitoring for “national security” purposes. In her latest video, while participating in an online meeting, Jankowicz argued that individuals she deemed “not trustworthy” should have their content on Twitter edited for context by approved monitors.
“I’m verified, but there are a lot of people who shouldn’t be verified who aren’t, you know, legit, in my opinion,” Jankowicz said with disdain. “I mean, they’re real people, but they’re not trustworthy.”
“Anyway,” she went on with her proposed solution, “so verified people can, essentially, start to edit Twitter the same sort of way that Wikipedia is so they can add context to certain tweets.”
oh thank goodness now I don’t have to worry about teaching young people critical thinking skills

“So, just as an easy example, not from any political standpoint, if President Trump were still on Twitter and tweeted a claim about voter fraud someone could add context from one of the 60 lawsuits that went through the court or something that an election official in one of the states said, perhaps your own secretary of state and his news conferences, something like that, adding context so that people have a fuller picture rather than just an individual claim on a tweet,” Jankowicz argued.
In her opinion, there is no room for discussion. Approved narratives must be enforced at all levels of discourse. It’s not enough for “fact-checkers” to flag posts and throttle their visibility or shut down accounts of major news publications to keep a story from getting out.
No, the actual posts of people exercising their free speech must be edited for context to curb a viewer’s inclinations to think for themselves.
“All tweets should include highly visible context and by context we mean our opinion.”

Extremely concerning

Well, there’s no censorship, just “added context”.
Unless you count those whose accounts are denied that blue checkmark. No biggie.

Despite the lengthy record of her concerning positions with flagrantly biased stances, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas claims that he wasn’t aware of any of this. That’s right, the government agency that is telling you they will now be monitoring information for national security purposes is admitting that they didn’t even do a thorough background check on the woman they’ve charged with running their operation.
Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) was flabbergasted at a recent senate hearing when Mayorkas made that claim.
“When the department picked her, was the department aware of her Tik Tok videos?” Kennedy asked.”
“I was not aware of those videos,” Mayorkas claimed.
“They’re really quite precocious,” the senator added of the woman many have dubbed Scary Poppins.

As Dr. Anthony Fauci so often repeated, “An attack on me is really an attack on science.” One can only wonder how long before Jankowicz uses that same framework to suggest an attack on her is really an attack on the truth.
We are watching a megalomaniac beginning to blossom.

I can’t believe THIS is where we are.

… her proposed solution, “so verified people can, essentially, start to edit Twitter the same sort of way that Wikipedia is so they can add context to certain tweets.”
So the edited version of this would be: “so political functionaries can edit Twitter comments so they can change, and control, the context of critical tweets to fundamentally change their meaning. And, so we can open an FBI file on them.”
Ever wanted to know what it was like in 1930s Germany or Italy, with just a few more technological bell and whistles? Well, here we are.
The problem being, if this measure were to get in place –and I doubt Musk would allow it (Gab certainly won’t)– that would just kill Twitter all over again. I hope Musk sues them if they do something that brazen. Especially since we know they won’t be able to subsidize it without admitting it was always one of the regime’s “estates”.
Then is it okay to do that to Biden’s statements?
They might have the new press secretary keep tabs on his tweets, if that’s what you mean.
Orwell was extraordinarily prescient. Is he required reading for all wanna be dem fascists?
By trustworthy people you mean people like Adam shifty Schiff that changed a congressman’s E-mail text from the opposing party to better meet his own agenda. That is still a form of censorship.
Just more high paid people that contribute to the citizens. Infact just more wasted tax money. which is the problem never part of the cure.
Not that it has mattered to this dimocratic administration, but I would see a major conflict with the first amendment aka someone altering what anyone says is effectively denying that person’s freedom of speech. Someone needs to check to see if this person has a high school education. Most job applications require at least a high school education. of course most of Biden’s administration seem to be social promotions anyway.
Who decides “trustworthy” people? The Government? Leftist Bureaucrats? Elected officials who were voted into office to make laws that Govern our daily lives to make our country a better place? What happens when a person who speaks the truth that the current Government does not agree with has been labeled, “untrustworthy”. Will this administration send their FBI and DOJ goons to arrest them for sedition and or terrorism? At what point do Americans come together, Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians and independents all say in one voice ENOUGH? You people in DC work for us not the other way around. We are loosing our country and our souls to the communist who have a huge foothold in our country. We have people at all levels of Government who condemn and rage over God and religion in our schools and in Government yet we have hate filled Muslims in our highest levels of Government that teach their hate as good.
