The “low-life criminal” and purported wokester who allegedly leaked Justice Samuel Alito’s draft opinion that, if finalized by the court majority, would overturn Roe v. Wade probably should not expect a job reference from Megyn Kelly, to say the least.
Although it’s all speculation at this point, in an epic Twitter thread, a fired-up Kelly, a former corporate lawyer before going into journalism, described the person responsible for the “disgusting” judicial “earthquake” and who likely should anticipate a career change, as someone other than a profile in courage.
“The pathetic spineless leak of a draft SCOTUS opinion has the feel of something a sad little woke 20-something-year-old would do. The kind of person who thinks their personal agenda is ‘more important.’ Whoever did it should lose their law license,” she theorized on the social media platform.
Omg.
Legal earthquake if true but first: how in God’s name did a draft SCOTUS OPINION LEAK?
Insanely unorthodox, inappropriate, UNPRECEDENTED. Disgusting breach, frankly.
Will be major investigation into who did it. https://t.co/81bzdnAxmu— Megyn Kelly (@megynkelly) May 3, 2022

Kelly also lamented the potential physical threat to the justices presumably from deranged leftists. U.S. marshals protect members of the high court, but that level of security can be variable, depending upon the preferences of a justice, and other factors.
“Wonder if the leaker took into account the safety of the justices who undoubtedly were not prepared for the release of this tonight. The low-life criminal better PRAY that nothing happens to these public servants,” she wrote.

Kelly, who has noticeably moved more to the right on many issues after launching her podcast following an unsuccessful attempt at becoming an NBC “Today” show lifestyle diva after she left Fox News, also called out the triumphalism of the liberal corporate media despite the violation of longstanding Supreme Court protocol.

“See? Whiny little activists (I mean … reporters?) cheering the betrayal of centuries of dignity and ethics as long as it’s in service of their agenda of BURN IT ALL DOWN,” she fumed.

Kelly also expressed confidence that the investigation ordered by Chief Justice John Roberts will locate the person responsible.
They will 100% find the leaker. https://t.co/UIKg9MZlVO

Interestingly, in her timeline, Kelly also raised the alternate possibility that instead of a left-wing abortion supporter, “a conservative leaked it to pressure tentative/wobbling moderates” against changing their minds.
In addition, she fired back at a “clueless” liberal activist by noting she has not expressed an opinion on the pro-choice/pro-life issue, noting separately that there are people with sincere beliefs on both sides. Her focus was mainly on the ethical transgression.
“Hey Clueless-I have never said how I feel about the abortion issue. Never. Go back & check. [I don’t know] who you think ‘they’ are but I am angry about this breach [because] it’s unethical, needlessly shatters norms & faith in the [third] branch for political reasons & endangers the justices. Got it?”

Kelly concluded her thread with a call for unity and prayer, which unfortunately is going to be difficult to achieve in this politicized, polarized climate often driven to extremes by social media.
Our country is so divided right now, and this is one of the most difficult, emotional issues. Genuinely good, loving ppl on both sides (tho not reflected on Twitter). Feels like a good time to say a prayer & love thy neighbor.

Kelly separately underscored that the draft majority opinion hardly justifies the mass hysteria on the left that the pending decision is a harbinger of a rollback of various fundamental rights.
For those predicting gay marr will now fall along w/all “privacy” cases, Court says in draft: NO..
“We emphasize that our decision concerns the…right to abortion & no other right. Nothing in this op. should be understood to cast doubt on precedents that do not concern abortion.” pic.twitter.com/CtYsKauoZy— Megyn Kelly (@megynkelly) May 3, 2022
New York Post columnist Michael Goodwin has opined on what is really behind the unprecedented leak, an October surprise that emerged in May, which Justice Roberts has deemed a “betrayal, and an “egregious” breach of trust:
The shocking leak of the Supreme Court draft decision that overturns the constitutional right to abortion is already achieving its main objective. It is giving Democrats something to run on this fall besides President Biden’s lousy record…Forget inflation, open borders, the murderous crime surge, Ukraine — look over here at this shiny new object. And get mad as hell….Moreover, the procedure would remain legal in many states because of existing state laws, which is exactly the point of the draft opinion — that abortion rights always should have been decided by voters in each state and their representatives…In fact, the issue can cut both ways. Most Americans, myself included, support abortion rights, but most also recognize the need for some kind of limits. Democrats used to recognize that need, too, with Bill Clinton saying in 1992 that abortion should be “safe, legal and rare”…
