A new book by two New York Times reporters indicates there’s been some tension between President Joe Biden and former president Barack Obama. Even House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has reportedly weighed in, saying Obama is “jealous” of Biden.
Though why that should be the case, given Biden’s record, is absolutely mystifying.
The book is called “This Will Not Pass: Trump, Biden, and the Battle for America’s Future,” which is the sort of title you would expect from two New York Times reporters. Penned by Alexander Burns and Jonathan Martin, the book alleges that Obama had “complicated feelings” about Biden’s presidency, according to Fox News Digital, which reviewed an advance copy of the book.
The book, set to be released next week, alleges that Obama and Biden spoke infrequently by phone at the beginning of Biden’s presidency. However, no real love seems to have been lost between the two. The book says that their phone conversations were “hardly the stuff of the tight brotherhood both men had sold to the country as a cheery political fable.”
There’s a new one: politicians behaving in a fraudulent fashion. It’s not exactly breaking news that Obama and Biden tried to sell the country on carefully-crafted, but entirely fake images of their competency and fitness for the job; Biden’s attempts have been decidedly less successful than Obama’s.
“Nancy Pelosi,” the book states, “who spoke regularly with the former president, came away from her conversations with Obama during this period with a matter-of-fact diagnosis. She told a friend: ‘Obama is jealous of Biden.'”
Apparently, the problem comes down to Obama’s notoriously outsized ego—he was allegedly upset that Biden’s administration might be considered more “transformative” than his. If by “transformative” it is meant chaotic and destructive, he should be worried.
The book alleges that Biden told an advisor: “I am confident that Barack is not happy with the coverage of this administration as more transformative than his.”
It’s not the first indication of lingering tensions between the two. Many suspected the “chummy” vibe the two projected on the campaign trail, and which Biden played up to win favor with progressives and liberals who are apparently nostalgic about Obama’s eight years in office, was merely for show. A Politico report in 2020 exposed the conflict between the two men over their divergent governing styles.
Infamously, the report quoted anonymous sources who indicated Obama had a number of serious doubts about Biden’s suitability for the highest office in the land. “Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to f–k things up,” an unnamed Democrat remembered the former president saying.
There’s also apparently some friction over who rightly “earned” the support of black voters for Biden’s presidential bid. Some Democrats credit Obama with turning out the black vote for his former running mate; however, the Politico report alleges that Biden bristles at that suggestion, and believes Obama did nothing to help him.

If there’s any dissension between the kenyan and the idiot he illegally had installed in the White House, it’s likely because joe wants to have a say in things but isn’t allowed to because as already mentioned, he’s an idiot and has no business being anywhere near politics, never mind the presidency!

While watching the SOTU earlier this year, I was surprised to find myself struck with the strong impression that Pelosi has a crush on Biden. She couldn’t take her eyes off him and was beaming at him the whole time. And she could barely let him finish talking before lunching toward him with her congratulations. No one will forget, either, how she rubbed her fists and grinned like a schoolgirl to the point of standing up in the act. Tell me she doesn’t have a crush on him. She’s probably had it for years.
