The Media Research Center (MRC), utilizing its CensorTrack database, published a report last week that tracked in excess of 600 cases where Twitter and Facebook censored conservatives on their respective social media platforms over the last two years.
Media Research Center found 646 cases where individuals who dared to criticize President Joe Biden on social media were censored by having their comments deleted, their speech restricted, or were banned from the platforms altogether.
The study was conducted between March 10, 2020, and March 10, 2022. That includes Biden’s campaign for the presidency through his election as president.
Of those censored, almost one-quarter were smacked for mentioning the New York Post story on the president’s son Hunter Biden’s laptop-from-hell.

The largest percentage of those punished were those who had the temerity to post something criticizing Biden for his habit of engaging in inappropriate contact with girls and women. The president was forced to address the subject on the campaign trail but it has not stopped him from still engaging in episodes of questionable behavior since then.
In one example, a Facebook post that claimed to show images of Biden kissing his adult granddaughter on the lips during a campaign stop in Iowa in February 2020 was captioned, “Find someone who kisses you the way Joe Biden kisses his granddaughter.” It was allegedly removed for violating the platform’s community standards on “nudity or sexual activity.”
Social norms are changing. I understand that, and I’ve heard what these women are saying. Politics to me has always been about making connections, but I will be more mindful about respecting personal space in the future. That’s my responsibility and I will meet it. pic.twitter.com/Ya2mf5ODts

CensorTrack also reported 232 cases of “comedic memes, videos, or generic posts about Biden’s conduct” that resulted in censorship. That’s just about one-third of the total cases.
Some individuals were reprimanded simply for quoting Biden’s own words which highlighted his perceived incompetency as the president of the United States.
“Big Tech even axed those who blamed the current inflation crisis on Biden. For example, Facebook censored Heritage Action, the advocacy arm of the conservative Heritage Foundation, on March 15, simply for posting a video quoting Biden’s embarrassing statements on energy policy. Facebook placed an interstitial, or filter, over Heritage Action’s video, suppressing the post’s reach. The video showed Biden and officials in his administration explaining how his policies would cause gas prices to rise,” CensorTrack pointed out.
Conservative politicians such as former President Donald Trump, Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas), and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) were also targeted. News outlets on the right such as the New York Post, The Federalist, and The Washington Free Beacon, as well as others, were also dinged by the social media platforms.
We've recorded over 3,700 censorship cases just as insane as the ones mentioned below at https://t.co/85iFzQqsKY https://t.co/yMLcdRAXEg

“Satire site The Babylon Bee; celebrities like Donald Trump Jr. and James Woods, and media personalities like Daily Wire host Candace Owens, Salem radio host Sebastian Gorka and radio host Dana Loesch,” were also censored according to the outlet.
“The database team has logged over 3,600 overall cases of censorship on multiple Big Tech platforms concerning a myriad of issues such as elections, COVID-19, climate change and race. Each CensorTrack entry includes a written report backed up by internal records and documentation proving censorship,” the report claimed.
The study comes as Tesla CEO Elon Musk finalizes his purchase of Twitter, vowing to restore free speech to social media and to end censorship.
Musk, who is a self-described “free speech absolutist,” wants Twitter’s algorithm for prioritizing tweets to be open-source where people can see what is going on. He wants members to stop being banned, to stop spambots, and for corporations who advertise to not have too much sway on the platform.

According to CensorTrack’s website, Free Speech America is working to stop the censorship of conservatives.
Its board of advisors includes Newt Gingrich, Turning Point USA’s Charlie Kirk, and the Co-Founder of Tea Party Patriots, Jenny Beth Martin.
