In a stunning example of the arrogance and hypocrisy of local officials, a Palm Beach County, Fla. commissioner has taken it upon herself to lecture others about threatening language when her own daughter suggested that Governor Ron DeSantis should be assassinated on social media.

Commissioner Melissa McKinlay didn’t take kindly to a story published about the Palm Beach County Police Benevolent Association (PBA) withdrawing an endorsement for a local school board candidate who has locked horns with McKinlay after police were dispatched to her home last year because of a comment on Facebook about dumping garbage and face masks on a county commissioner’s lawn.

The article was written by former BizPac Review CEO Jack Furnari, who has been a powerful political strategist in Palm Beach County for more than two decades and published by PBC Jolt, a local publication that uniquely holds county officials accountable, unlike the legacy media.  It led to an email being sent by the county commissioner to the author, a likely shot across the bow of a concerned citizen with legitimate questions. Questions that are inconvenient to local officials.

In the email, McKinlay took issue with his story that addressed the sudden revoking of the PBA’s endorsement of Angelique Contreras, the Palm Beach School Board District 4 candidate, over footage Contreras had posted of the police visiting her home.

The video showed what appeared to be government abuse of power and retaliation toward Contreras, an outspoken mom who had shined a light on the commission’s tyrannic mask mandates ( watch the video below.)

According to Furnari, “Police officers showed up at Contreras’s door to warn her that trespassing was illegal. In the background, scurrying around like a scared rabbit, was a sitting county commissioner whose power play had backfired.”

In the email which was posted to PBC Jolt in another article by Furnari, McKinlay wrote, “Please tell me what ‘scared’ Commissioner was sitting in the PBSO patrol car you refer to in your article. I’m genuinely curious.”

In addition to her request for Furnari to disclose the identity of which elected official he was referring to, McKinlay had the audacity to lecture him about the danger of threats which is laughable considering that her own daughter appeared to call for the murder of the sitting governor of the state of Florida.

McKinlay’s daughter also posted violent and threatening language about Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett after she was confirmed by the Senate.

“I’ll gladly go three rounds w this bitch in a ring, no gloves plz,” she reportedly wrote.

While scolding Furnari that “No one is immune from law enforcement,” the commissioner took a different approach when her own daughter should have been the one receiving a visit from authorities over her call for DeSantis to be assassinated.

McKinlay addressed the “very unfortunate situation” of her daughter’s social media activity at a 2020 Palm Beach County Commission meeting.

McKinlay’s daughter definitely was not subjected to the same treatment that Angelique Contreras received after her Facebook discussion with friends who were joking about dumping garbage on the lawn of a county commissioner, saying something like, perhaps it should be masks resulted in the police coming to her home.

Furnari wrote that the incident was “so bizarre and outrageous that I still have trouble believing it happened in the United States of America.”

But the nightmare didn’t end for Contreras and she was informed by the PBA that her use of the word “Gestapo” in the video posted to YouTube was cause for the PBA to revoke its endorsement, writing in a letter that “Your comments on social media, and YouTube calling our deputies Gestapo, were embarrassing and disappointing.”

Contreras responded to the PBA’s yanked endorsement in a video, expressing her disappointment.

According to Furnari, “I spoke to highly-placed law enforcement officials in Palm Beach County today, and there isn’t a law that requires the police to check out minor threats made to elected officials or anyone else. The resources don’t exist to do it, and what happened to Contreras had to have been directed by an elected official.”

  1. De Santis office needs to notify the fbi to investigate the daughter. For threats against a sitting governor. Have them pull up the the commissioners house looking for evidence and the where abouts of here daughter. Just saying

  2. Note how carefully they avoid indicating how old her unruly daughter is. According to her Palm Beach County bio, last updated in 2020, ALL of her children are in college; how proud she must be of her OLDEST child, Annika, who is clearly not someone that needs to be “dealt with” by her parents. Ms. Annika is an adult and chose to make some posts that 1. effed her mom, and 2. need to be dealt with by whomever deems necessary in the Twitter-sphere: she is an ADULT and we already have a Hunter Biden, we don’t need another politician’s privileged, PITA, adult child taking ink for stupid sh*z.

  3. What everybody paying any intelligent attention knows, and which complicit corporate media determinedly obfuscates and pretends it doesn’t understand:

According to Furnari, “I spoke to highly-placed law enforcement officials in Palm Beach County today, and there isn’t a law that requires the police to check out minor threats made to elected officials or anyone else. The resources don’t exist to do it, and what happened to Contreras had to have been directed by an elected official.”

  4. How come the FBI didn’t haul her well bred snot out to jail for threatening government officials? Mom, you need help and so does your daughter. Threats like that are no joke.

  5. “Someone assassinate him already” That is a viable threat. It is also enticing someone else to murder Desantis. Throwing mask or garbage on a lawn is trespassing and littering. Which one is worse? Which one should the cops be aware of? Wanting to fight a supreme court justice, another act of violence. I can see this commissioner is a terrific mother. Once again, the INSANE left Loonie toons reveal their true nature. Then an unknown woman, maybe the commissioner was the one trespassing on contreras property. You can’t make this stuff up. Lefties are the enemy of America. They are insane and absolute asswipes. Don’t be fooled people these people are dangerous. I am pro police, but that cop was a gestapo and should be ashamed of himself. It is obvious that the commissioner sent the gestapo to intimidate her. Vote their asses out and Never quit Fighting these besterds. What goes around comes around, not a threat but Karma.

  6. It’s time for these losers to be arrested, prosecuted, convicted, and put into prison, where they belong. Do it now.

  7. In my opinion I think that  Angelique Contreras may want to post the video on line of who ever it was that she seen when the police made their harassing call on her, I’m quite sure that someone in Palm Beach will know who this person is and then she can file charges for trespassing. It is very obvious from reading the article that this situation with the police is all political motivated by Melissa McKinlay, and the question is why is she allowed to use tax payer dollars to sick the police on any person who has not broken the law?

    Semper Fi 1969-1989

    1. I agree. She should push this to the limit. Everyone knows who it was, and we know who sent the gestapo. I remember watching the first Billy Jack movie at an outdoor theatre. He says when the law breaks the law, there is no law. Police need to consider what they are doing and why.

  8. Apparently death threats to a CONSERVATIVE elected official are nothing more than a teachable opportunity.

  9. Continuing to teach her daughter that she need not take responsibility for her words and actions. May be candidate for Mom of the Year, dumbocrat version.

  10. Her daughter should be in jail………….period. She should learn choices have consequences

  11. Cowardly cops allow trespassing on their political victim. Elect this fine candidate to the school board.

  12. It sounds like McKinlay should be former commissioner and her and her daughter be investigated for making criminal threats!!

  13. Anything aligned with the communist left is dirty. Their kids, their ‘friends’, and their brains.
