Harrowing videos of China’s state of biomedical totalitarianism continue to emerge with millions of citizens being subjected to tyrannical, dehumanizing measures in pursuit of the zero-COVID policies of the communist regime.

In the latest of an ongoing series of horrors inflicted on the residents of Shanghai, China’s largest city, workers in biohazard suits have reportedly erected fences around residential buildings, caging already locked-down citizens like animals.

In the videos which are drawing attention on social media as well as receiving mainstream media coverage, tall green metal fencing has been put up, resulting in a public outcry that will fall on deaf ears in Beijing which in true communist form, has taken its repressive measures over the containment of the virus to an entirely new level.

“Many of the fences were erected around compounds designated “sealed areas” – buildings where at least one person tested positive for COVID-19, meaning residents are forbidden from leaving their front doors,” according to Reuters.

“It was not clear what prompted authorities to resort to fencing. A notice dated Saturday from one local authority shared online said it was imposing ‘hard quarantine’ in some areas,” the outlet reported. “Reuters was not able to verify the authenticity of the notice or all of the images, but saw green fencing on a street in central Shanghai on Sunday.”

The fencing has drawn complaints on social media which are popping up faster than the Chinese authorities can censor them.

“This is so disrespectful of the rights of the people inside, using metal barriers to enclose them like domestic animals,” said one Weibo user.

Another asked, “Isn’t this a fire hazard?”

“Shanghai is using a tiered system in which neighborhoods are divided into three categories based on the risk of transmission.” the Daily Mail reported. “Those in the first category face the strictest COVID-19 controls and were the main target of the new heightened measures. In the third category, some buildings allow people to leave their homes and visit public areas.”

The city, which is a hub of international finance with over 25 million residents, has been under lockdown orders for over three weeks as hundreds of thousands of cases have been recorded over the last two months although the death count remains low.

“Shanghai reported 39 COVID deaths for April 23, versus 12 a day earlier and by far the most during the current outbreak,” according to the Daily Mail. “It did not report any deaths in the first few weeks, fuelling [sic] doubt among residents about the figures. It has since reported 87 fatalities, all in the past seven days.”

“The city recorded 19,657 new locally transmitted asymptomatic cases, versus 20,634 a day prior, and 1,401 symptomatic, versus 2,736,” the outlet reported.

Those who are under the boot in Shanghai include foreigners, and one Dutchman gave an account of what life is like under the lockdown.

Other footage that has been posted since the Shanghai lockdowns began resembles scenes from a dystopian science-fiction movie.

The exact reason why Chinese authorities have resorted to the fencing is unclear but one thing is, and that is that the government is prepared to take extreme measures using COVID as a pretense.

  1. Fenced in and controlled like animals… just like Australia. Why are the Aussie’s not overjoyed with their new neighbors on Guadalcanal then? After all, they modeled their Covid response on the CCP playbook. The government in Australia today would have welcomed the Japanese there 80 years ago.

  2. Why is this being reported NOWHERE ELSE? If the world knows, maybe something would be done about it. I’ve only read about Shanghai’s situation on BPR and Epoch Times.

  3. Killing the dogs because they pose a threat to the real criminals who are locking the Chinese citizens. Locking those citizens in by screwing the doors shut on the restaurants is futile , especially since theres glass in those doors. If they cant bust the doors down , Im sure they could easily break the glass and leave.

  4. “China’s state of biomedical totalitarianism”

Next on the CDC’s wish list.
