House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is blaming the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA ) after the U.S . Capitol Police evacuated the Capitol campus of buildings due to a perceived threat which was actually a skydiving performance and apparently flummoxed the 82-year-old sponger.

The aircraft in question – at the time considered a “probable threat” by Capitol Police – was carrying the Army Golden Knights parachute team who were performing a flyover at the Washington Nationals baseball game that evening. The display of good ‘ol American patriotism and family fun didn’t sit well with the lady former President Trump has dubbed, “Crazy Nancy.”

“The Federal Aviation Administration’s apparent failure to notify Capitol Police of the pre-planned flyover Nationals Stadium is outrageous and inexcusable,” Pelosi said in a statement.

“The unnecessary panic caused by this apparent negligence was particularly harmful for members, staff and institutional workers still grappling with the trauma of the attack on their workplace on January 6th,” she whined.

A spokesperson for the FAA told the Daily Mail, “The FAA takes its role in protecting the national airspace seriously and will conduct a thorough and expeditious review of the events this evening and share updates.”

“We know our actions affect others, especially in our nation’s capital region, and we must communicate early and often with our law enforcement partners,” the agency capitulated.

Pelosi made sure to acknowledge the Capitol Police who are under her direct charge.

“Today, and every day, our Congressional community is extraordinarily grateful for the heroism of our United States Capitol Police officers,” said the House speaker.

“In ordering the evacuation of the Capitol and vigilantly monitoring for a potential aircraft threat, our officers ensured the safety of all who work in these hallowed halls — and we thank them for their exemplary service,” she gushed. “Congress looks forward to reviewing the results of a thorough after-action review that determines what precisely went wrong today and who at the Federal Aviation Administration will be held accountable for this outrageous and frightening mistake.”

A spokesperson for the U.S Capitol Police quickly confirmed the supposed threat was non-existent – minutes after labeling it a “probable threat” – and they simply acted out of an abundance of caution in ordering the evacuation of the Capitol complex.

“The Capitol was evacuated out of an abundance of caution this evening. There is no threat at the Capitol. More details to come,” USCP said in a statement on Wednesday.

“Evacuate Now: Aircraft Intrusion” read the alert ordering the evacuation of the US Capitol, Capitol Visitor Center, Library of Congress, House and Senate office buildings, as well as the U.S. Botanical Garden, the Daily Mail reported.

For those interested in the newest season of America’s greatest pastime rather than the nonsense rippling from the D.C. beltway, the Diamondbacks put a whoopin’ on the Nationals 11-2.
