The Walt Disney Company may be setting themselves up for another onslaught of tantrums from the left after they announced Tuesday that Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida will now be operating under an entirely optional masking policy.
Much like major airlines had responded to a federal judge’s ruling Monday that President Joe Biden’s federal transportation mask mandate exceeded the authority of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and was therefore unlawful, Disney nullified the last remnants of mask mandates they had pertaining to guests indoors “based on recent trends.”
On their website, Disney wrote, “As we have done since reopening, we’ve been very intentional and gradual in our approach to our COVID-19 health and safety protocols. Based on recent trends and regulatory guidance, Walt Disney World Resort will be making adjustments to these measures, which may continue to change at any time without notice. We encourage people to get vaccinated.”
“Face coverings are optional for Guests in both outdoor and indoor locations, as well as Disney transportation,” the website explained. “It is recommended Guests who are not fully vaccinated continue wearing face coverings in all indoor locations, including indoor attractions and theaters and on enclosed transportation. Please note, face coverings are not permitted while experiencing water slides or in the water.”
Fox Business reported that, as of February, all guests were still expected to wear masks while traveling around the park using enclosed transportation services like the monorail or sky gondola. Vaccinated guests were allowed the option to remove their masks in other indoor spaces which was an update from the August 2021 directive that ended masking exclusively while outdoors at the theme park.
Much like libs had melted down following U.S. District Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle’s ruling, social media was primed for further outcry with Disney’s announcement.
Just as I’m considering planning for a trip there . . . This along with mask-less planes makes me certain of another COVID wave coming very shortly.

I’ll be going somewhere else and taking my money with me. Superspreader events, morons, and LGBTQ bashing states don’t interest me.

Looks like I’m never going to Disneyland again.

@disney Disney World
At least we weren’t already there when you dropped your mask mandate. We are canceling our trip. Don’t care if I have to pay any fees. My kids health more important
We will road trip it to a National Park & SanFrancisco where they still wear masks

If Disney had been hoping to win back the support of guests who were in opposition to the limited mask mandate they still had in place, they evidently don’t know how to read a room. Not only have they melted the snowflakes clinging to their face-sized security blankets, they’ve opened themselves up to further ridicule over their alleged “groomer” behavior.
I don’t see the problem here, it’s optional, wear it if you want or don’t. I wear mine everywhere I go regardless of other ppl, it’s your health, do as you want; BTW going to Disney is also optional.😁

Excellent, hope this pisses off their groomer fanbase

Because their stocks tanked.

Disney’s stocks have been trending downward for some time. However, since the market opened on Wednesday, their value had dropped nearly five percent at the time of this posting. This likely has more to do with Republican Governor Ron DeSantis’ announcement Tuesday that, in the upcoming special legislative session, he has instructed the Florida House of Representatives to consider eliminating Disney’s special carve-out that has been in place for decades.
“I am announcing today that we are expanding the call of what they are going to be considering this week. And so yes,” DeSantis said, “they will be considering their congressional map. But they also will be considering termination of all special districts that were enacted in Florida prior to 1968. And that includes the Reedy Creek Improvement District.”
The special privileges that Disney might lose could strike a massive blow to how they do business in the state and dramatically affect their bottom line. As such, DeSantis may single-handedly be bringing about the end of corporate special interests in his state.
They only get straightened out when they get their hand twisted kudos to this man https://t.co/XWwkbIEX8S
