Christina Pushaw sends NY Mag senior art critic off deep end and it’s hilarious: ‘You’re certifiably insane’

Christina Pushaw, the high-energy press secretary for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, is one of the best follows on Twitter because she consistently holds up a mirror to the hypocritical left, including agenda-driven, so-called journalists.

Pushaw is no pushover, which is apparently why she triggers liberals such as, in this instance, senior New York magazine art critic Jerry Saltz. Pulitzer Prize-winning Saltz is the same otherwise obscure scribe who got ridiculed back in November 2020 for advocating the isolation and snuffing out of “Republicanism.”

Parenthetically, Instapundit’s Glenn Reynolds often refers to reporters as Democrat operatives with bylines.

On Wednesday, perhaps as another example of the above, Saltz described Pushaw as “certifiably insane” when she provided a history lesson about Marxism’s end game for limousine liberal types (who are known as champagne socialists in the U.K.)

“It’s hilarious that credentialed lib activists in places like San Francisco, Brooklyn, and gentrified neighborhoods of Washington D.C. believe they’ll be on the central planning committee after the communist revolution in America. Study history, folx — you’ll be first to the gulag,” she wrote.

Pushaw followed up by mocking the magazine writer for presumably missing the point of the picture that she painted.

“New York Magazine activist is disappointed to learn that he won’t be on the Central Planning Committee in Soviet America. Enjoy working in the salt mine.”

This prompted Saltz to go on a salty rant, which included the following:

“You are a certifiably insane traitor to country & morally damaged. It’s all in your bad daddy-issues terrified aggrieved heads & your 90% all-white ethno-nationalist Republican Party. I seem to have caused a rumble up in your office. Release your bots. You are Murder Incorporated,” he wrote as a part of a longer rant, which included Pushaw firing back with “OK Boomer” and Saltz replying, “OK Millennial.”

Saltz also disparaged Fox News owner Rupert Murdoch and prime-time host Tucker Carlson for good measure.

As a related aside, in an October 2021 New York Post op-ed, The Bellows website publisher Edwin Aponte claimed that Karl Marx himself allegedly had little regard for the left because of the “insufferable” elite cohort’s “flagrant hypocrisy” in that such policies “paradoxically worsen the conditions of working people, while strengthening the position of large shareholders and the professionals who service them.”

“You needn’t be a Marxist to see Marx’s point: that for all the ‘revolutionary’ sound and fury of the left, most leftism in practice immiserates working people. Yes, even Marx hated the left,” he argued.

Saltz apparently didn’t learn much from his previous Twitter roast as these responses suggest.
