Since the passage of the Parental Rights in Education bill in Florida, the left has been claiming that LGBTQ children are being harmed in numerous ways, but one NBC News reporter who reached out to Gov. Ron DeSantis’ spokeswoman Christina Pushaw might be the most harmed of all.
Pushaw is no stranger to the gladiatorial arena that is politics, and she isn’t afraid to give as good as she gets. This was evident after she posted an exchange she had with a tech and culture reporter from NBC News, in which she was asked her opinion on the increased use of the word “groomer” as well as the alleged “increased online harassment” of LGBT children “since the passing of Florida’s Parental Rights in Education law.”
Unfortunately for this reporter, Pushaw isn’t anything like White House press secretary Jen Psaki. Pushaw doesn’t dance around the question or “circle back” when it’s more convenient for her.

“I’m working on a story about LGBTQ teens facing increased online harassment amid the passing of Florida’s Parental Rights in Education law and the introduction of similar legislation in other statements,” the email read. “Specifically, I’m writing about the sudden uptick in the use of the words ‘groomer’ and ‘grooming’ against opponents of legislation that limits the discussion of gender and sexuality in schools.”
“In this piece, I’m mentioning Christina Pushaw’s tweet about the PRE law from early March that called it an ‘Anti-Grooming Bill,’ and said any opponents are ‘probably a groomer’ or don’t denounce the ‘grooming of 4- to 8-year-old children.’ Apart from her previous statements that her tweets reflect her personal opinions and not those of Governor DeSantis, I wondered if Christina had any comment on the spike of conservative and far-right figures using the word ‘groomer’ to describe LGBTQ people and their allies,” the writer of the email continued.
For added effect and perhaps to double down on their own self-importance, the email concluded with this gem: “My deadline is ASAP.”
Pushaw’s response immediately hit on the fact that it was clear from the wording of the email that the journalist was biased, and twisted the context surrounding the use of “groomer” to imply that it was being used to target LGBT people “and their allies.”
“I would encourage anyone who took offense to my tweets to read them again, and to read the legislation,” she said.
“You will notice that I have never once singled out LGBTQ people, because groomers (child predators) can be of any orientation or identity. Likewise, the Parental Rights in Education law does not single out or mention LGBTQ people. Only Democrat politicians and their media allies are claiming otherwise,” she continued.
Then came the hammer.
“The assumption that criticism of grooming is criticism of the LGBTQ community equates LGBTQ people to groomers, which is both bigoted and inaccurate,” Pushaw pointed out.
Closing out her response, she wondered if the journalist had a “more politically correct term for adults who advocate for instructing young children about sexuality and gender theory behind their parents’ backs.”
This quick and easy smackdown did not go unappreciated by social media:

I can think of worse things to call people who try to shove radical gender ideology down kids’ throats!

This is absolutely my favorite part of this. They’re conflating groomers with the LGBTQ community, inadvertently digging their own grave. It’s gross to assume pedophilia is exclusive to a sexual orientation. And that is exactly what they’re doing. Identity politics

Of course there’s no reply from the knucklehead reporter. She’s still wiping feces from her face.
Nowadays, it seems, so-called “journalists” and some of the radicals they tend to quote would rather just rant opinion rather than do the work and pursue the facts. The moron at NBC likely unknowingly (because the work wasn’t done) was the one to conflate members of the LGBTQ community with the perverts who are guilty of grooming our kids. I don’t live in Florida (yet), but I’ve read the legislation and that clown is about half a world off with that BS. If you don’t like the word “groomer,” you can substitute the word, “disney.”
Wouldn’t you think so-called journalists would read the Bill? They are just assuming before any actual research! I didn’t know they taught that in journalism class.
They are not assuming…. They are performing the leftist trick of creating a straw man argument so they can throw flames at it.
Just another example of the media being an arm of the progressive democrat marketing machine.
Now that we know that demmunists are uncomfortable with the term “groomer”, let’s try to use it whenever and wherever possible.
GROOMER. Say it loudly. Say it often.
If Ron DeSantis does one day become our President, he must make PuShaw his White House spokesperson.
She’s genius.
