Billionaire Elon Musk’s attempted takeover bid of social media giant Twitter has generated much speculation on what changes he would make if he is able to overcome fierce opposition to take control, and one major question is whether he would reinstate former President Donald J. Trump’s access to the platform.

Twitter, along with every other social media company, pulled the plug on the embattled POTUS after his political enemies exploited the hysteria over the so-called “insurrection” of January 6 to cancel him, an unprecedented move for a political leader let alone the sitting U.S. president.

The Tesla and SpaceX CEO has been very open about restoring free speech to Twitter, possibly lifting the ban on Trump, but establishment opposition to Musk is growing and on Friday, the company’s board voted in favor of a “poison pill” to keep the censorship in place.

On Friday’s edition of “Outnumbered,” the Fox News panel discussed the latest developments in the Musk-Twitter saga, and the regulars were joined by Fox News Radio host Jimmy Failla who offered up his provocative take that if Musk does end up running the San Francisco-based company, that he should not reinstate the former and perhaps future president’s account.

The hosts began with a discussion lambasting leftist journalists and pundits critical of Musk’s moves and who are pulling out all the stops to keep censorship in place, including former Obama administration David Axelrod who predicts that Trump’s return is all but a done deal if the outspoken mogul is able to pull it off.

Following a much-spirited discussion between co-hosts Dagen McDowell and Emily Compagno, the host of “Fox Across America” jumped in.

”And, Jimmy, so ok, Elon Musk is going to buy Twitter, hopes to buy Twitter for billions. He’s also put in an offer to buy CNN for $28, which was my favorite troll, which is the only reason I’m on Twitter, just to see the good jokes,” said Compagno of Musk’s epic jab at the already failing streaming service.

“He did bid a little high there didn’t he?” Failla said. “I do have some takes and they are controversial so anybody has any issue with that tweet me @EmilyCompagno.”

“I love how the left is pretending, because they have for four years, like, aw Twitter doesn’t favor us, they never favor us, what is everybody talking about Twitter favors us,’” he said.

“Now Twitter is about to change hands and they are losing their minds,” he added.

“This is like someone saying you’re an alcoholic and you say, no, I am not’ and then you dump out a beer and they’re like ‘What are you doing? Oh my God, I need the beer,'” he joked.

“But the reason they’re mad, and this is the reason is because they got really lazy when it comes to political discourse and that they’ve never had to participate in the free exchange of ideas,” he continued, “they’ve simply labeled anything they disagree with as hate speech and made it go away, now they actually have to work.”

“And the hypocrisy of this is hilarious because everybody who’s mad about billionaires getting involved, didn’t say a word when Mark Zuckerberg was spending $520 million on the last election,” he added. “And for all of the talk about billionaires shouldn’t  control things, what were they doing when they threw Trump off Twitter?”

Failla then dropped what could be an unpopular opinion with many conservatives. “You know, the only thing I would tell Elon is if you care about the country, I actually don’t think Trump should get back on.”

He then gave his rationale.

“The reason I am saying that is because with him off, we’re paying attention to real substance now, instead of them pretending the news cycle should be about which Saturday Night Live actor he didn’t like this weekend. We are focusing on substance and that’s why Biden’s getting crushed,” he said.

“I think Biden would pay Elon to let Trump back on Twitter at this point,” said Failla.

  1. Under the current Twitter the forked tongue Axelrod should not be allowed on Twitter as should not many others that are. many others that should not. Even when those that were locked out for misinformation that turned out to be truth are still locked out including Trump. No correction or apologies. Twitter is a two -faced leftist organization period. This power that Twitter and like organizations should not hold such power of influence over Free thinking American citizens. Free speech and honesty should prevail. We are perfectly cable of making correction when given all the info. Of course that is what the left fears.

  2. News for Jimmy Failla, opinions are like azzholes we all have one and they all stink and your opinion about not letting President Trump back on Twitter ranks right at the top of the list. If Twitter is going to be a Free Speech platform then President Trump rates to be on just like you are. By the way you are not funny and not very smart to boot.

  3. Jimmy Failla will regret that comment. He pretty much said that all of Trump’s tweets will lack substance. In so doing, he just insulted every single person who attends Trump’s rallies, whether in person or watching them on TV.

  4. Oh, so free speech equals not letting everyone on Twitter? Why? Because you, you fool, don’t like what Trump has to say?! He has as much right to be on Twitter as you do, or that a-ss Axelrod. Trump still scares them all – and that is why he should be back on that dumb social network. The man is transparent – what you hear is what he thinks. Why not let everyone hear it? Biden didn’t get 81 million votes, Epstein didn’t kill himself, Hunter is a crackhead corrupt son of a corrupt President and you have a problem with Trump being on Twitter? Go back to your safe space then.

  5. Was Mr. Musk’s oFFer for cnn $28 per SHARE or just $28 TOTAL?? Either way it’s WAY TOO HIGH!!

    1. At First I thought this was the unFunny “comedian” on some late night show that I’ve never watched! Not surprising from a Fox “guest”!

  6. Who needs twitter? It’s a sewer! A place where brain dead liberals get their rocks off bitching about whatever… You want change? Stop bitching about it on line and get your butt out and do something about it. Trump was there to talk more directly to the people of every stripe making the presidency more accessible to the masses who normally would not have. Leave it to the libs to screw it all up…

  7. paying attention to real substance now”, what on Twitter is failla reading? Probably baldwin, streisand messing, sarandon, behar, etc. Real adults don’t read, or give thought to what they find offensive, stupid, or obnoxious. Grow up man, get a life.

  8. Corrupt Democrats and their media toadies are responsible for the discourse in today’s politics, not President Trump. They learned back during the Clinton/GHWBush election they could be hateful and make headway (remember “it’s the economy stupid”). The last thing this country needs is the continued vitriol from the left.

  9. ANOTHER azzhole that should go the way of Chris Wallace ! He’s on the wrong network !!

  10. Jimmy Failla, you know there’s a way to avoid Trump on Twitter, don’t follow him! You sound like you don’t like free speech!

  11. I think president Trump said many stupid things that hurt him with many he needed. I loved Trump’s policies and results, and was one of the most effective presidents EVER, but I thought he shot himself in the foot when he did not have to, and gave his enemies ammunition to use against him almost daily- which was not smart. He fought the Swamp and lost. Trump did not realize that there are just not enough Republicans in this country to win a presidential election, you need independents, some Democrats and minorities and women to win- so you cannot do what Trump did during his 4 years and piss people off, and that is why he lost. I know there was corruption in the electoral process, but Trump caused “Trump Fatigue” by many that were just tired of all the constant drama. He could have been much more effective and I believe would still be president had he not acted the way he did in so many instances. That is why I do not believe he will run, or be able to win again-the nation has changed, and the Democrats and all their means of voter fraud, high tech, social medias, unverifiable mail in ballots, ballot harvesting, computer programs, algorithms, etc is much stronger today than it was in 2020. Democrats pretty much control everything on every level of our society, and we have the weak, gutless, spineless and incompetent leadership of Republican leaders like McConnell and McCarthy, who would not even support Trump-to blame for that.

    1. HE DIDN’T CAUSE the “drama”……….The MSM DID ! AND……….He WILL run !! You’re sounding like a Rino!

    2. I usually agree with all of your comments. But not this time. You stated that Trump needs more than Republicans to win —then you said he also needs independents, democrats, minorities, and “women.” Your implication is that Republicans are comprised only of white males. Not true. There are plenty of Republican women. Latinos have been moving toward the Republican Party for years. I agree that the RINOS like McCarthy, McConnell and Graham are detrimental. But I disagree that Trump lost his battle with the Deep State. Truth is, he is still fighting and exposing it even tho he’s not in The Oval. The fight continues. And the fact that Trump accomplished so much in four short years in the face of baseless investigations and allegations, not to mention surviving two impeachments, is a testimonial to his strength and resolve. The fight is ongoing. Evil may have “won” in 2020. But ultimately, Good will prevail.
