Not enough popcorn! Elon Musk sends leftists into meltdown mode with four little words

Billionaire Elon Musk, behind such ventures as SpaceX and Tesla, has decided that the next step in his dealings with Twitter is to simply acquire the social media platform.

Tweeting “I made an offer,” Musk may have made a lot of dreams come true, or nightmares, depending on which side of the aisle you’re on.

Musk put down a massive $41.3 billion offer for 100% ownership of Twitter.

“I invested in Twitter as I believe in its potential to be the platform for free speech around the globe, and I believe free speech is a societal imperative for a functioning democracy,” he wrote in a statement.

“However, since making my investment I now realize the company will neither thrive nor serve this societal imperative in its current form. Twitter needs to be transformed as a private company. As a result, I am offering to buy 100 percent of Twitter for $54.20 per share in cash, a 54 percent premium over the day before I began investing in Twitter and a 38 percent premium over the day before my investment was publicly announced,” Musk added. “My offer is my best and final offer and if it is not accepted, I would need to reconsider my position as a shareholder. Twitter has extraordinary potential. I will unlock it,”

This triggered a massive response on social media:

  1. We have experience with spending 41 billion on poverty. It doesn’t do anything. Since LBJ and his great society idea in the 60s, this country has wasted that much money on its war on poverty. Sure doesn’t look like we cured it from where I sit.

Here’s the problem, handing out money month after month to people who won’t work for what they need, only leads to having to continue to fork over the dough every month, forever! Trump had the right idea, aid them in being able to find work so they can earn their own living. He was doing this by creating opportunity zones and pushing for charter schools. He was making headway, until the voters messed things up. Let’s face it, the past two years of covid have proven our teachers don’t want to teach! If they did, reading and math scores in the intercity schools wouldn’t be in the toilet.

So, no, spending that money on poverty is just a waste. Just ask LBJ when you see him.

  2. OMG Why do I keep allowing myself to fall into that dark pits of Twitter???

I am so glad there is someone willing to put something, anything, on the line for FREEDEOM!! Honestly I can’t believe someone needs to spend any amount to get it. Our founding fathers would be pissed off right now, since you know they already gave a lot or all for Freedom, actually I am pissed off for them since several of my ancestors fought beside the founding fathers.

  3. Good job Epong! I love it when he trolls the democrat terrorists! AND they are all terrorists, white supremacists, blm, pantifa s, and racists!

  4. I dropped out at 40B after realizing that this man was going to destroy the platform for liberal lies. He’s turning the platform back to the people…all of them. Liberals can’t bear to have a level playing as their lies just go belly up. I will be naming my next dog Elon…a recognition of admiration beyond compare.

  5. If Twitter goes for it, the board get to keep their huge money. If they don’t take it, I am certain he will dump his stock and drive Twitter out of business, giving the board much lower personal value. Once he takes it private, he can appoint anyone he wants to any position he wants to

    1. If the board screws the stockholders out of this windfall, they will be sued into oblivion. It’s a done deal.

  6. To the guy’s twitter post saying to “grow up and respect authority”…guess what sir, when you’re worth $256 billion and the richest man in the world…umm…you are the authority!
If they don’t take the deal, which they would be fools not to, then I would suspect Elon puts his money into a rival platform and sends Twitter into the tank! Either way it is a win win.

    1. That 3YearLetterman punished one of his players because of somebody else’s actions tells us he isn’t terribly grown-up in the first place. If I had a Twitter account, I’d call him out for his douchebaggery (that should totally be a word).

  7. To 3YearLetterman who tweeted that Elon can’t do this, only the CEO can, guess what? If he owns 100% of the shares, he can appoint whomever he wants to the Board of Directors, and make himself the CEO. After all, it’s the common stock shareholders who vote for the Directors, and the Directors hire or fire the CEO. For those people who think Musk should have spent the $41 billion on the war on poverty, who tells YOU how to spend your money? What’s that? Nobody tells you how to spend YOUR money? Then where do you get off thinking you can tell HIM how to spend HIS money? How do you know he doesn’t spend other money on fighting poverty? Pretty presumptuous of you to tell him what to do.

  8. I don’t use Twitter but I find it refreshing that Elon Musk is willing to take such a stand on our right to Free Speech that he would spend that amount of money to obtain the company. Yes, there are others out there that he probably can’t or won’t buy such as Face Book and Google but by owning Twitter he can change the tide of the current social media up as well as demonstrate a company can function while allowing Free Speech.

    1. That’s what the Gab account tweeted. Considering what happened to Parler, you’re probably onto something. Still, I imagine there could be a lot of backlash if Google did something so petty as that. People are already abandoning that company as it is, so maybe it’ll be yet another blow, and they’ll finally drive themselves into the ground?

  9. Leftists meltdown? I’m only seeing ‘our conservative media/pundits’ talking like this is better than the second coming of Christ! And for what? The only ones bitching about Twitter has been ‘our conservative media/pundits! I’m guessing (hoping) that 95%? of us ‘regular’ folks have never used Twitter and/or don’t GAF what happens to Twitter. And besides… What happened to Rumble or Gab or Trump’s platform? I thought THOSE were the answers! That’s what Bongino said! LoL

      1. Spoken like a true Kool-Aid drinker. I’d love to know what I wrote was ‘Leftist’. But even if you do reply, it’ll make absolutely no sense…

        1. You belittle people for pointing out (you call it “bitching”) that Twitter is anti-First Amendment (which it is). That’s Leftist. Rumble, Gab etc. might be good antidotes, but why not celebrate all victories over tyranny and totalitarianism? (Does that make enough sense for you.)

          1. Yep! It’s like I’m psychic! You made no sense at all. When/WhereTF did I say Twitter is anti-first amendment? I call females females, and Morons Morons. You’re a Moron!

            1. Save the sarcasm and vitriol for others. If you weren’t disparaging conservative media/pundits for being excited or happy that a free speech (i.e. pro-First Amendment) advocate like Musk is attempting to buy and change Twitter, then what was your point? I don’t, nor have I ever had a Twitter account, but that’s not the issue. Then again, you probably haven’t noticed how the civil society in this country has declined by leaps and bounds during the last several years either.

  10. If Musk dumps his stock and thus crashes the stock price, Twitters execs, whose pay is contingent on stock bonuses, will be hit hard. This is the “or else” part of the offer.

  11. HOPE he DOES by the entire company and bring back Free Speech to the CORRUPT Social Media Platform !! There are other Billionaires who should be joining him !

    1. Your comment is spot on. I see a problem with other Billionaires joining him as I think it has been demonstrated by our politicians as well as many corporate leaders that they don’t want to see Free Speech as it threatens their power, lets face it if you control the speech you control the power and that is what I think we are seeing in America today.

  12. I wonder what Mr. Musk’s long-term objectives might be? I don’t see how this can ever be a profitable investment for him.

      1. You are correct, but isn’t it better that he use the wealth he’s acquired for good and useful purposes than to do evil and destructive things (i.e. Zuckerburg)?

  13. If Elon Musk turns Twitter around from being an anti 1st amendment outlet to one that will accept opinions not part of the democrat playbook he will become the new American hero!!
