Max Boot is “frightened” about the potential impacts of billionaire Elon Musk purchasing Twitter, but his take on the matter (which gives a gentle hug to censorship) earned him quite the public flogging on the blue bird platform.
“I am frightened by the impact on society and politics if Elon Musk acquires Twitter. He seems to believe that on social media anything goes. For democracy to survive, we need more content moderation, not less,” he tweeted.

Even if I agreed with that last sentence, which I most definitely do not, the question is…
Who decides?
Because whoever decides will cite “content moderation” as a means of suppressing their opposition.
We have only all of human history as a precedent for that pattern.
