Fox News host Laura Ingraham interviewed former Trump administration adviser Kellyanne Conway on Tuesday, taking aim at fellow Fox News host Sean Hannity’s and former President Donald Trump’s endorsement of Dr. Mehmet Oz for the US Senate in Pennsylvania.

Ingraham was critical of the endorsement, calling it a “mistake.” She asked Conway, who endorsed Republican Dave McCormick in Pennsylvania, if it was an error by Trump and Hannity to endorse Oz several times. It was obvious that Conway thought it was but she would not utter the word “mistake” on Trump’s part. She did, however, highlight some of the liberal stances that Oz has taken making him a poor choice for the Senate.

“Do you think the Trump endorsement of Oz was a mistake?” Ingraham asked Conway putting her on the spot over the issue.

“Well, President Trump’s endorsement in these Republican primaries is a highly sought after and deeply consequential piece of political currency. So many people want it, they make the trek to Bedminster or Mar-a-Lago–” Conway responded.

The answer did not actually answer the question, so Ingraham interrupted and reiterated what she just asked, “Was it a mistake, Kellyanne?”

Conway had a clear chance to praise McCormick at that point and tick off his qualifications, but that did not occur. She instead went into defense mode for Trump, noting that his stances on conservative issues shifted over time in the right direction. She accused Oz of making “rookie mistakes” and not being anything like the former president.

“Here’s what I think about it. I think that it confused many Republicans and conservatives in Pennsylvania because they’ve seen Oz in his own words on video about — against guns, for abortion, praising Hillary Clinton as one of the most brilliant women, smartest women he’s ever met, being for ObamaCare and so on and so forth. But a Trump endorsement, and even waving the American First flag doesn’t make you Donald Trump. Donald Trump won not because he was a celebrity like Dr. Oz, he won because he did the work. He went out and talked about trade policy, he took on China on your network every Monday morning for years,” Conway asserted, attempting to make her point.

Conway also pointed out that Oz has dual citizenship with Turkey which would preclude him from some intelligence issues in the Senate.

Despite being friends with Hannity, Ingraham did not let him off the hook for his endorsement of Oz.

“Hannity, I think, I believe endorsed Oz and I think that’s, you know, that’s probably not inconsequential for President Trump,” she remarked. “You wouldn’t answer the question whether it was a mistake. I think it was a mistake to endorse Oz. I’ll say it. I’m not afraid to say it. It was a mistake to endorse Oz.”

Oz is seeking to take the seat of retiring Republican Senator Pat Toomey in Pennsylvania. His record on conservative issues is dubious at best. Ingraham played clips on past statements by Oz concerning issues such as climate change, Red Flag laws for guns, and abortion… all of them leaning to the left.

Many conservatives are incensed by the support and don’t understand why Trump gave the nod to Oz instead of McCormick.

Ingraham opened her show by focusing on those issues and making it clear she thought the endorsement was a bad idea after playing clips showing Oz’s controversial political stances.

“His positions on those issues have Pennsylvania Republicans questioning Donald Trump’s endorsement of him last weekend. The ‘Washington Examiner‘ spoke with bewildered voters and party leaders, including Washington County Republican Party Chair David Ball. He says he’s been fielding calls all day from unhappy conservatives asking what the hell was Trump thinking?”

“President Trump was very out of sync in picking Oz,” Ball told the media outlet.”I’d like to know who it is who lives in Pennsylvania that knows the voters well, told Trump to pick Oz.”

  1. McCormick ain’t no snow white if the reports on him are true. If Ingraham is going to support him, she better start highlighting his positives.

  2. I agree with Laura on this Oz was a big mistake and will only embarrass TRUMP. I hate to say it but I think it’s true. Oz is a backstabber like mitt Romney. Neither of which should be in office of any capacity

    1. You may be right. We need PA. so Trump felt need to endorse. McCormick is from the Bush camp. Bushers have consistently stab Trump in the back. Probably the reason Trump wouldn’t endorse the front runner McCormick. Trump will likely support the primary winner.

  3. Based on Dr Oz 5-10 years ago, then I agree Trump’s endorsement was wrong. For me to agree with it, Dr Oz has a ways to go before I’d believe he’s turned conservative. He would have to publicly withdraw his past statement about Hillary Clinton, for sure. However, throughout the plandemic, he has spoken out against vax mandates and is pro-therapeutics. That’s not enough to convince me though.

  4. Does Trump and Hannity know something we don’t? Maybe, but my verdict is still out on Doc Oz. People do wake to reality. Still a ways out from mids.

  5. WHEN is Trump going to learn NOT to trust these “advisors” who CONSTANTLY stab him in the back and cause chaos?? He has some VERY traitorous people VERY close to him. He should just do what his GUT tells him……….THAT’S how he got elected in the first place ! As for Hannity…………I STOPPED watching him ever since he turned into a blabbering MORON !

    1. And President Trump needs to cut ties with Kevin McCarthy. McCarthy is the biggest RINO in The House, next to Kinzinger and Chaney.

      1. Yep. McCarthy has said he has little interest in impeaching Biden which means he will not support the constitution as Cheney, Kinzinger, Pelosi didn’t but from the opposite perspective. Jim Jordon for house chair.
