President Joe Biden has no plans to visit Kyiv as his British counterpart Boris Johnson did over the weekend, drawing raves for his surprise appearance and the message that his stroll through the streets of Kyiv with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy sent to Moscow.

Instead, Biden will sit in Washington, D.C. where he will monitor the situation on a daily basis, according to a top White House aide.

The “leader” of the free world was one-upped by U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson who ventured into the heart of a war zone while Biden spent yet another weekend laying low at his home in Delaware, his sanctuary away from the stress and pressure of his job, the 32nd such getaway since he took office.

On Sunday, national security adviser Jake Sullivan appeared on NBC flagship “Meet The Press” where he was put on the spot by host Chuck Todd over Johnson’s trip to Ukraine and whether the U.S. president intended to do likewise.

“It was quite the symbol to see Prime Minister Boris Johnson walking the streets of Kyiv with President Zelenskyy. It raises the question: are we gonna see President Biden in Kyiv?” Todd inquired.

Sullivan responded, “President Biden doesn’t currently have any plans to travel to Kyiv.”

“But what I will tell you, he sits in the Oval Office and in the Situation Room on a daily basis, organizing and coordinating the world when it comes to the delivery of weapons,” he added.

“Would you rule it out?” Todd asked. “If there was a reason to go he would get there?”

Following an awkward pause, Sullivan said “President Biden has been to Kyiv before, he looks forward to going to Kyiv again, but we’re not currently planning a trip.”

Video of Johnson walking in Kyiv with Zelenskyy has served as an inspiration, Biden’s failure to put the U.S. at the forefront of a unified global response to Putin’s aggression against his neighbor has been anything but.

Also on Sunday, a frustrated Zelenskyy appeared on CBS’ “60 Minutes” where he said that he was no longer interested in diplomacy, a strong statement that will put additional pressure on Biden.

“When you’re working in diplomacy, there are no results,” he told Scott Pelley, “all of this is very bureaucratic.”

“That’s why the way I am talking to them is absolutely justifiable,” Zelenskyy added. “I don’t have any more lives to give, I don’t have any more emotions, I’m no longer interested in their diplomacy that leads to the destruction of my country.”

Biden’s lack of leadership on the world stage brought a brutal flogging on Twitter.

“Boris Johnson went to Kyiv this weekend,” wrote RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel. “Joe Biden went on his 32nd weekend vacation to Delaware.”

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich also slammed Biden, “The British Prime Minister goes to Kiev to meet with Zelenskyy while the American President rides his bicycle in Delaware. There is something wrong with this picture. When did the land of the free and the home of the brave become the land of timidity, risk aversion, and dishonesty?”

GOP Rep. Peter Meijer of Michigan wrote, “At this point nearly every major NATO/EU country has shown strong public support by sending either a head of state, legislative delegation, or senior diplomatic official to Kiev to meet with President Zelenskyy. Except US.”

During his visit to Kyiv, Johnson told Zelenskyy, “I think that the Ukrainians have shown the courage of a lion, and you Volodymyr have given the roar of that lion. The Russians believed Ukraine could be engulfed in a matter of days and that Kyiv would fall in hours to their armies. How wrong they were.”

“Over the last few hours, I’ve been able to see quite a lot of your beautiful country, and it’s an amazing country. I’ve also seen the tragic effect of the war…an absolutely inexcusable and unnecessary war,” Johnson said.

“But having been here in Kyiv just for a few hours, I have absolutely no doubt, Volodymyr, listening to you, listening to your team, your redoubtable team, I have no doubt at all that an independent sovereign Ukraine will rise again, thanks above all to the heroism, the courage of the people of Ukraine,” added the prime minister.

The world is watching Biden at a time when strong American leadership is desperately needed to end the suffering in Ukraine.
