‘This might explain some things’: Jada Pinkett Smith talks ‘creepy’ thing her grandmother taught her at 9

The dysfunctional relationship between beloved Hollywood couple Will and Jada Pinkett Smith that spilled over in public at the Academy Awards ceremony continues to captivate Americans who are delving into why a storybook marriage went badly off the rails.

Will Smith’s nationally televised smacking of Chris Rock in the head continues to dominate the news cycle nearly two weeks after the actor lost his cool and charged the stage over a joke about his spouse’s hair and social media has been buzzing ever since.

Signs that there was something badly off-kilter were there for years and an admission from Pinkett Smith that she was given lessons in how to masturbate at a young age by her grandmother has drawn attention after a clip from an interview of her weird confession has resurfaced on Twitter.

In a video from a 2018 episode of her Facebook talk show Red Table Talk, the “Matrix” movie franchise star dished on what she learned from grandma.

“My grandmother taught me about self-pleasuring because she wanted me to know that that pleasure was from me,” she said, pointing at herself, “she didn’t want me to fall into the hands of a man and if he gave me pleasure to think that that was him.”

“And she taught me at nine,” Pinkett Smith boasted in the conversation with her mother Adrienne Banfield-Jones, and her own young daughter, Willow.

Twitter reacted, with one user saying, “This might explain some things….”

“Creepy,” added another.

Another resurfaced video offers more insight into the Smiths’ turbulent marriage, this one of Will Smith being subjected to apparent mental abuse from his wife, possibly shedding light on what led to his brutal rage that boiled over at this year’s Oscars.

Will Smith’s violent outburst and striking of Rock earned him an official rebuke when the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences punished the Best Actor winner by banning him from appearing at the Oscars for the next decade.

“The 94th Oscars were meant to be a celebration of the many individuals in our community who did incredible work this past year; however, those moments were overshadowed by the unacceptable and harmful behavior we saw Mr. Smith exhibit on stage,” the Academy said in a statement, “During our telecast, we did not adequately address the situation in the room. For this, we are sorry. This was an opportunity for us to set an example for our guests, viewers and our Academy family around the world, and we fell short — unprepared for the unprecedented,”

The ban may have hurt Smith but the real suffering is at home.

  1. If this is true, was Granny a sexual abuser? And why did Jada get preggers by Will, if she didn’t want to marry him? Didn’t she have a clue about birth control, or just not having sex?

  2. Yep, her grannie was woke before woke was a thing.
    As an adolescent my mom walked in our me pleasuring myself. [My ‘woodie’ became a noodle instantly]. She soon after put the book “What Every Little Boy Ought to Know” on my bedstand. But she didn’t leave hand creme and a box a tissue with it.

  3. I read this thinking the creepy thing she learned about was looking at herself in the mirror or, maybe, more deeply into her mental health…yes, even at 9, we have moments of clarity where we don’t think about only ourselves.
    But I see that creepy still just equals Jada.
    Looking at her kids, she’s passed some of that creepy on….feel sorry for the whole family except her. She’s ruined the lives of her family her entire life and now she’s thrown her Grandmother under the wheels of her narcissism. It’s gotta be about Jada to Jada…..now that’s truly creepy.

  16. With Jada’s Mom and her daughter shaking their heads in agreement with Jada about Granny teaching Jada how to MB at 9 to proclaim her independence from men! Hmmmm How about the word “NO” and Jada’s Mommy doing a better job of protecting her child and call the police on Granny for grooming her child! Has Willow been subjected to this type of grooming by her own Mother or Grandmother!
    Jada is blind that she was victimized by her Grandmother and her Mother was ok with it since she’s agreeing with!

  22. I dont really care about who taught you how to frig yourself. BPR is def. bleeding this crap for everything they can get, which isnt much especially since their change of format. Stupid Tommys Garage keeps popping up in full-screen mode without even clicking on it. Not that they plan on doing anything that could be described as improvements. It was working well as could be expected the other way. Dont fix what aint broke. So what did they do? In an effort to fix it, they broke it. I hope they are enjoying their lack of participation. We can only hope that BPR will read the comments that people are making and change the system back as it was, like you said if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
