A set of photos featuring strange worm like images in the sky reportedly taken near Lazy Mountain, Alaska on Thursday stirred up controversy on social media as viewers hypothesized that the finger-like cloud was caused by everything from a UFO or volcanic eruption to a Russian missile.
“You can clearly see the object making the fumes in these photos. That ain’t no rocket or plane,” one person commented.
“Looks like something from a Peter Jackson movie,” another person wrote.
Yesterday this bizarre sight was seen over Alaska.
It appeared over Lazy Mountain near the city of Palmer.

But Alaska State Troopers pulled the plug on the conspiracy theories after conducting an investigation and reporting that they “believe that the photos and videos showed a contrail from the commercial jet combined with the rising sun which together caused a unique atmospheric sight.”
“The Alaska State Troopers and our partners at the Alaska Rescue Coordination Center investigated the Lazy Mountain photos and video that were reported to the Alaska State Troopers and have also been circulating across social media this morning. There have been no reports of overdue aircraft or ELT activations indicating an aircraft crash. A rescue team on a helicopter flew a mission around the Lazy Mountain area this morning and located nothing suspicious and there were no signs of crashed aircraft,” they wrote in an online advisory.
“Further investigation revealed that a large commercial jet was flying in that area around the time that the photos and video were taken. The aircraft was contacted and reported normal flight operations on its way to JFK airport in New York. Troopers believe that the photos and videos showed a contrail from the commercial jet combined with the rising sun which together caused the unique atmospheric sight,” Troopers wrote.
“We greatly appreciate the numerous Alaskans that reported the suspicious sight this morning to law enforcement,” the troopers concluded, which may have been polite code for “please stop calling us now.”
Not everyone was convinced by the trooper’s claims, perhaps due to a large number of so-called “conspiracy theories” that have been reported by the corporate media that later they have to admit are indeed true.
“Wild conspiracy theories” – especially those reported as such by the mainstream media – have had a nearly 100% veracity rate recently.
So. Tell us what this isn’t, so we know what it is, New York Post.

One UFO aficionado on social media made an over 11-minute video in an attempt to debunk the debunking claims by government officials. Watch for yourself and make up your own mind.
