The Democratic Party has long taken the black vote for granted, promising much and then delivering little after the votes have been counted and there are signs that business as usual may no longer be working in 2022 and beyond.
On Friday, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg appeared on “The Breakfast Club,” the nationally syndicated radio show that has a huge black audience where he was tripped up by Charlamagne tha God who delivered the shocking news that the Biden administration has fallen far short on its promises to the one demographic that is absolutely critical to their political fortunes.
“You do realize Pete, a lot of black people feel like Democrats have kept no promises since they’ve been in office,” the host said.
An obviously surprised Buttigieg exclaimed, “Really?”
“Yes, Reverend Al said that a million times,” referring to racial grievance grifter, Rev. Al Sharpton.
“Ok, look, I get it, because the work is not done,” said Buttigieg, trying to shine the host on with his spin.
“But the reason I say really is we just passed one of the biggest pieces of infrastructure legislation in American history. It was a promise, and it wasn’t just a promise the Biden-Harris administration made or that us Democrats made in 2020, this is a promise that every president and every Congress has made in some way, shape, or form for as long as I’ve been an adult and we actually did it,” Buttigieg claimed.
An unimpressed Charlamagne tha God begged to differ.
“But those are big broad things and that’s great but I’m talking about things that you campaigned on like the George Floyd Policing Act and the fact that our voting rights, man, like 19 states have implemented voter suppression bills,” referring to new laws actually designed to protect the integrity of elections by making it harder for Democrats to cheat.
He continued, “You know that’s gonna directly impact us the most and the only strategy Democrats are going to have is we have to go out and vote in mass numbers to fight it, that’s not a strategy,” a statement suggesting that President Joe Biden may have overplayed his hand when he railed against the “Jim Crow” voting laws such as the one in Georgia that led to the loss of last summer’s MLB All-Star Game, leading to immense damage to the local economy, including black-owned businesses.
If that is the perception held by black voters outside of the Breakfast Club studio, then it’s an ominous sign that Biden’s pandering with black identity-based appointments including Vice President Kamala Harris and newly minted SCOTUS Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson hasn’t had the anticipated effect.
Charlamagne tha God may really be onto something considering recent polls that have shown Biden losing ground with black voters, including a Marquette University Law School survey that showed a steady erosion in Biden’s approval ratings with black people whom he has consistently presented himself as a champion of while resorting to raw demagoguery that has suggested that white people are racists.

The poll showed that the nation’s 46th president’s favorability rating with black voters has declined from 88 percent favorability last July to 56 percent in March 2022 with no end in sight for his alarming slide with the demographic.
Thanks to Biden’s disastrous policies which have led to massive inflation as well as record-high gasoline policies, the Democrats’ goose could be cooked if black voters stay home in November.
