Disney General Entertainment President Karey Burke, whose children identify as transgender and pansexual, backed a company initiative that by the end of the year, at least half of all future characters in productions will either be LGBTQIA or from racial minorities.
Burke is in charge of content for Disney and following Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signing the “Parental Rights in Education” bill into law, she is upping the ante and doubling down on Disney’s pro-gay policies regardless of the backlash.
She proclaimed that Disney has to do more to be inclusive during a company-wide all-hands conference call in leaked video that was shared on Twitter by journalist Christopher Rufo.
Burke became emotional in the video, claiming that the issue was personal because of her children.
“I’m here as the mother of two queer children, actually, one transgender child and one pansexual child, and also as a leader,” she stated during the virtual meeting which got the attention of Florida’s GOP governor who spoke about the company that makes its theme-park home in the Sunshine State.

“I have heard so much from so many of my colleagues over the past few weeks in open forums, through emails and phone conversations,” Burke claimed. “I feel a responsibility to speak not just for myself but also for [my kids].”
She called 20th Century Fox “the home of really incredible, groundbreaking LGBTQIA stories over the years,” but feels they could do more.
“One of our execs stood up and said, ‘You know we only have a handful of queer leads in our content,'” Burke commented. “I went, ‘What? That can’t be true.’ And then I realized it is true.”
She is joined by another Disney top executive, diversity and inclusion head Vivian Ware who reminded employees that the company no longer addresses theme park visitors as “ladies and gentleman, boys and girls” but as “dreamers” and “friends.”

“Last summer we removed all gendered greetings in relationship to our live spiels,” Ware noted in another video posted by Rufo, a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute.
“We no longer say ‘Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls,'” she announced. “We’ve provided training to all our cast members so now they know it’s ‘Hello, everyone or hello, friends.”
“We want to create that magic moment with our guests,” she remarked. “We don’t want to just assume because someone might be, in our interpretation, presenting as female, that they may not want to be called ‘princess.'”
Television Animation Executive Producer Latoya Raveneau also praised Disney’s inclusivity and bragged about the company “adding queerness” to its shows and productions.
“Our leadership over there has been so welcoming to my not-so-secret gay agenda,” she remarked. “Wherever I could I was adding queerness. No one would stop me and no one was trying to stop me.”

Disney employees and gay activists have been walking out and protesting DeSantis’ so-called “Don’t Say Gay” bill which is a misnomer. The bill signed by the Florida Republican prohibits teaching young children through grade 3 any lessons on sexuality, gender identity, and sexual orientation “in a manner that is not age-appropriate.”
Today, I signed HB 1557, the Parental Rights in Education Act, into law.
It ensures parents can send their kids to kindergarten without gender ideology being injected into instruction and they will be notified and have the right to decline healthcare services offered at schools. pic.twitter.com/OLnW2GLrJl

The blatant wokism of pandering to liberal politics and the gay agenda has been fiercely protested by parents and is sure to severely impact Disney’s bottom line.

Disney, however, has not been deterred. It has, in fact, gone all-in on the gay agenda, openly promoting it much further.
The company began promoting a campaign called “Reimagine Tomorrow” in September that will represent more minority groups and the gay agenda whether parents approve or not.
“By 2022, 50% of regular and recurring characters across Disney General Entertainment scripted content will come from underrepresented groups,” the campaign states.
Nadine Smith, the co-founder of Equality Florida, was also part of the virtual meeting by Disney and claimed in the video that there is a strong anti-gay movement in Florida that wants to take kids away from their parents.
“When they can erase you, when they can criminalize your existence, when they can demonize who you are, the next step is to criminalize you and take your kids,” she disingenuously claimed, attempting to weaponize an unfounded fear.
Disney has also announced it would reinstate a kissing scene between two women in “Lightyear,” which is a spinoff of the “Toy Story” franchise.
Former Arkansas Governor and former Republican presidential candidate, Mike Huckabee commented, “They used to be family-friendly, kid-friendly. Heck, I can remember when Disney was the brand that parents could trust. Whether it was the television shows, their movies, their merchandise. Not anymore!”
