In the wee hours of Saturday morning, an otherwise quiet Chicago train station lit up after two men got into an argument that became physical and landed one of the men in a hospital with three gunshot wounds and the other behind bars.

Amidst a verbal disagreement, a man violently shoved a 53-year-old Chicago Transit Authority employee to the ground, knocking him right off his feet and landing him on his backside with a thud, the Chicago Journal reported.

While the CTA employee picked himself off the ground, the other man retreated down a nearby set of stairs, but the CTA employee decked out in a bright orange and yellow vest went after him as he reached for a handgun in his pocket. Once the CTA employee reached the top of the stairs, he shot at the other man several times, inflicting three wounds in his lower left leg, back, and abdomen.

Check out the video that has been circulating online to see for yourself how the situation played out — Caution: Violent Content:

No details have been released on what led up to the incident that occurred just before 2:00 a.m but it was reported that the CTA employee had a Firearm Owners Identification Card (FOIC) but no Concealed Carry License (CCL).

“While we don’t know what happened before this video started, we do see the CTA worker advancing on the other guy. That’s when he pushes him,” a tweet from a police scanner account noted. “All around a bad situation for everyone involved.”

CTA issued a statement about the incident that left the victim in critical condition at the University of Chicago Medical Center.

“The behavior of this one employee is not at all reflective of the thousands of hardworking, dedicated men and women who take pride in their work and responsibly perform their duties each day,” the statement read according to WGN9.

One person on Twitter noted how well public safety in Chicago is going without police.

A debate ensued on Twitter trying to resolve whether the man was justified in pulling a gun on the man that some were calling a drunk.

CTA officials have reportedly begun the termination process for the employee wielding a gun, who was apparently violating several CTA policies, including one that does not allow staff to carry a firearm.

  2. Can you say affirmative action,,,hire them because they are too ignorant and lazy to get a job on their own,,,they’ve downtrotted this country since the day they were brought here,,,,,FJB,,,,,

  3. If you carry a weapon you have to know the rules of engagement. You can protect yourself from deadly threat but the man who assaulted him by pushing him down walked away. That is when the transit worker calls the police to have him arrested for assault. You don’t follow him and then attempt to murder the guy with your gun. That is attempted murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and now his the rest of his life will be spent in a prison for his reckless and dangerous actions.

  4. Yes he was assaulted. But the assault was over and the man was retreating and not a threat when he was shot. Not self defense. He will be charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

  5. Let me make this as simple as I can for you ignorant f’ing libs: You can only use deadly force if there’s a reasonable fear of death or serious bodily harm, or to stop someone from killing or seriously injuring someone else.

This guy was pushed down, but the second the other one walked away, using deadly force became a felony. He’s black, though, so I’m sure some bleeding heart POS activist judge will give him a slap on the wrist.

    1. Well said and also very true. He will be in jail for a year and then get out on good behavior.

  6. I’m not seeing a problem. Shooting the guy who was walking away is illegal, but I like the idea of treating all perps this way!

  7. I pity any person that has to live in a Democrat run cesspool city. Crime is at record highs, homelessness, drugs, fentanyl, robberies, burglaries, vandalism, assaults, murders-especially black on black and black on white. Not to mention crumbling infrastructures, public safety, skyrocketing costs EVERYTHING AND NEVER ENDING TAXES.

  8. The jerk who shoved the CTA slob was wrong and should have been arrested. But he then walked away. When the morbidly disgustingly obese hippo waddled after him and fired ten shots at his back, that became attempted murder. If the guy dies it’s straight up murder. If the shooter was white all of the fools making excuses would be once again looting, rioting and behaving like savages.

  9. Hey Chicago – you wanted to DEFUND the POLICE so maybe you need to FUND more CTA shooters!! Just imagine how well behaved that people will be NOW since they have no way of knowing just how crazy that CTA worker might be?? We’ll see if he is charged or given a Commendation!

    1. He dared to fire a gun in Chicongo. That will cost him his freedom. Too bad that he wasn’t more accurate.

    2. Should’ve claimed the guy was a Trump supporter then he wouldn’t have been charged and would be a democrat hero!
