Stacey Abrams lands cringe cameo as president of the ENTIRE planet Earth on ‘Star Trek’

Failed 2018 gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams has received a promotion: She is now president of “United Earth.”

The Democrat ascended to that exalted position in a cringe cameo role on the season four finale of “Star Trek: Discovery” in the closing scene.

Showrunner Michelle Paradise characterized Abrams’ appearance in the Paramount+ series as “awesome” but couldn’t remember who specifically on the staff came up with the casting choice. Series creator Alex Kurtzman apparently gave the idea the green light immediately, however.

“And she was so kind. And we got on Zoom with her, and we pitched her where we were for the season and who this character was and what this character would represent. And asked if she would be a part of this with us. Honestly, I can’t think of anyone better to represent the president of Earth in all of that,” Paradise told IndieWire.

Abrams, who is said to be a big Star Trek franchise fan, purportedly collaborated on her few lines of dialogue (which are kind of global-ish) in the script as well as the costuming.

Watch:

Abrams had hosted a Star Trek-themed virtual fundraiser for the two Democrats in the Georgia run-up to the Senate runoff election and also participated in something called “Trek the vote to victory” for then-candidate Joe Biden.

Likely to lose her second attempt to become Georgia governor this year (unless the GOP snatches defeat from the jaws of victory, which is entirely possible,) the devoted Trekkie has previously expressed presidential aspirations, of the U.S., that is.

In the previous election cycle, Republican officials in Georgia from Gov. Brian Kemp on down inexplicably cut a deal with voting rights activist Abrams to dilute the state’s election regulations. In part, for this reason, Kemp is facing a primary challenge from former Senator David Perdue.

In the end, the Abrams-prompted procedures arguably handed the state’s 2020 presidential electoral votes to Joe Biden and the U.S. Senate to the Democrats. After the election, Kemp signed a law that tightened up voting procedures, which caused the Democrats, including President Biden, and their corporate allies to hyperventilate.

In 2020, Abrams worked with Amazon Studios on a documentary about “voter suppression” in which she starred and co-produced. NBC is reportedly turning a “legal thriller” that she wrote into a TV series.

It’s ironic perhaps that Democrats and their left-wing activist base have long bemoaned the Citizens United U.S. Supreme Court case that, on free speech grounds, allowed corporations to participate more in politics, particularly in the context of election-related spending.

Beyond typically progressive Hollywood, corporate American, in general, is now one of the primary entities that is implementing the left’s agenda.

Abrams presumably had to produce a government-issued photo ID to get on the payroll of these entertainment companies and perhaps even to gain entry into the Star Trek set. Star Trek is filmed in Toronto, so an ID would be required to get on a commercial jet to fly to Canada from Georgia.

Social media is having an out-of-this-world reaction to the Abrams guest-star turn. Here is a sample:
