In an angry speech condemning Georgia’s election integrity laws, President Joe Biden effectively characterized Americans who oppose his political agenda as his “domestic enemy.”

Speaking in Atlanta about the election law bill dubbed the “John Lewis Voting Rights Act,” which would essentially federalize elections, Biden demanded to know if Americans wanted to be “on the side of Dr. King or [former Alabama Democratic Gov.] George Wallace,” who proclaimed in 1963, “segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever.”

He also slammed the Senate filibuster, saying “we have no option but to change the Senate rules, including getting rid of the filibuster for this.”

“When it comes to protecting majority rule in America, the majority should rule in the United States Senate,” he said. “The next few days, when these bills come to a vote, will mark a turning point in this nation.”

“Will we choose democracy over autocracy, light over shadow, justice over injustice? I know where I stand. I will not yield. I will not flinch,” Biden continued in a raised voice. “I will defend your right to vote and our democracy against all enemies foreign and, yes,  domestic!”

Once again, Biden referred to his vice president, Kamala Harris, as “President Harris” during his speech.

As he has before, the president did not slow down after his gaffe or acknowledge the error as he spoke to students at the Atlanta University Center Consortium on the campus of Clark Atlanta University and Morehouse College.

“Last week, President Harris and I stood in the United States Capitol to observe one of those before and after moments in American history,” Biden said, referring to the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol riot.

Speaking later about the civil rights movement, Biden added: “Seems like yesterday, the first time I got arrested — anyway.”

Biden referred to Harris as the “president-elect” back in December 2020 and has called her the president on other occasions as well, including last March while discussing coronavirus vaccines and just last month during the South Carolina State University commencement ceremony.

The White House actually corrected the transcript after Biden had said, “Of course, President Harris is a proud Howard [University] alum.”
