Vice President Kamala Harris seemed incapable of giving a coherent answer over inflation and the economy when questioned about the subject during a CBS interview on Sunday as it’s being rumored that she refuses to read staff briefings.
Harris appeared on “Face the Nation” and was questioned by host Margaret Brennan over the dire issue of skyrocketing inflation as the nation enters its “third year” of the pandemic.
“Was it wrong to consider inflation transitory? These price spikes seem like they’re going to be with us for a while,” Brennan noted.
That question was prompted by an earlier statement by White House press secretary Jen Psaki who declared that inflation was “transitory” and would die down over the next year. Not so much as Fox Business is reporting that economists are now claiming that inflation is getting worse and will be with us into the foreseeable future. President Biden’s spending proposals are allegedly making the situation worse.
Harris’ response to the question of tackling inflation was less than clear and concise. She tripped over the issue and then attempted to pivot to supporting Biden’s Build Back Better agenda.
“We have to address the fact that we have got to deal with the fact that folks are paying for gas, paying for groceries, and are — need solutions to it. So let’s talk about that,” Harris deflected. “Short-term solution includes what we need to do around the supply chain, right? So, we went to the ports of Los Angeles, Long Beach, Savannah, Georgia, and said, ‘Hey, guys, no more five days a week, eight hours a day; 24/7, let’s move the products because people need their product – they need what they need.’ We’re dealing with it in terms of the long term. And that’s about what we need to do to pass Build Back Better. It strengthens our economy.”
The Washington Post previously reported that an ex-staffer asserted that Harris repeatedly refused to read briefing materials and prepare for meetings. Her stumbling over the issue of inflation brings to mind her so-called lack of preparation to address hefty economic matters.
“It’s clear that you’re not working with somebody who is willing to do the prep and the work,” a former staffer remarked. “With Kamala you have to put up with a constant amount of soul-destroying criticism and also her own lack of confidence. So you’re constantly sort of propping up a bully and it’s not really clear why.”

Following that assertion of a toxic work environment, a number of Harris staffers jumped ship.
Former Trump advisor Stephen Miller recently pointed out that Harris can’t handle the simplest of questions.
“It’s amazing how she continues to fumble the easiest softball questions you could possibly imagine,” he stated. “As you remember, her staff has so little confidence in her, they hired professional child actors to have a conversation with her about stargazing. You have to truly be the most helpless, clueless politician in the world if you cannot talk to a six-year-old kid about looking up at the night sky unless that kid has gone through professional acting training classes.”

He apparently has a point given the “Face the Nation” interview.

How in God’s name does putting container ports in LA, Long Beach and Savannah on 24-7 impact prices for gasoline and groceries? Especially when the problem is a shortage of drivers and chassis to haul containers to destination, so they’re clogging the ports.

I like how she throws the blame on the people working at the ports. People who have actual jobs where they come home at the end of the day completely exhausted knowing they’ll be back at it in a few more hours just to make a living.
