Political consultant Matt Schlapp agreed with podcaster Joe Rogan on Tuesday that former first lady Michelle Obama’s poll numbers were very good and she makes a sane alternative to Kamala Harris to headline the Democratic 2024 presidential ticket.
Schlapp made the observation on Fox News’ “Hannity” Tuesday concerning the disastrous selection of candidates that the Democrats have to pick from for the presidency in 2024.
As Fox News host Pete Hegseth played a clip of Rogan claiming that the 2024 presidency is Michelle Obama’s for the taking, he asked Schlapp for his opinion on the issue.
“It’s very interesting with the identity politics of the Democratic Party, this new socialist Democratic Party,” Schlapp remarked. “I mean I look at Joe Biden, I don’t know him personally. He sure doesn’t seem like he’s physically or mentally up to another presidential race unless they can do one of these pseudo-presidential races where he stays in his basement with Hunter and everybody can vote as many times as they want through the mail.”
He commented that he believes it is unlikely Biden will run again due to his health and cratering poll numbers.
“So now you have the identity politics of picking Kamala Harris,” he said and then asked, “Why?”
“Well, she’s a woman, she’s a woman of color, she comes from California, she’s very left-wing,” Schlapp continued. “Now they have this problem of, ‘Oh my God, they’ve gotten to see Kamala Harris, and she’s terrible.’
“I mean where is she, on planet Mars during all of this? I mean they don’t put her out at all because she’s not able to connect to the American people,” he continued. “So they’re gonna replace Kamala Harris. They gotta look to the identity politics, and I have to say, Michelle Obama fits that type of thinking. Another woman of color who’s obviously got good poll numbers.”
“It’s a very interesting idea,” Schlapp concluded.
He did not insist as Rogan did that Obama would win by any means. Poll numbers alone do not decide the presidency. It should also be noted that Michelle Obama has displayed zero interest in running for the presidency so far. At the end of November, 13 percent of Democrats supported Harris, 10 percent supported Michelle Obama and 36 percent were unsure, according to a poll from The Hill.

Monday, Rogan discussed Obama running for the presidency in 2024 during his podcast with guest Tim Dillon. He asserted that her chances were very good with Harris as a running mate while noting that a ticket featuring former President Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis would be formidable. In the end, he believes that if Michelle Obama runs, she’ll win. Schlapp did not share his liberally-induced enthusiasm and certainty over the election.
“Trump and DeSantis together,” Rogan said. “They have to make a super team. That’s the only way they win.”
“Michelle Obama and they’re going to bring in [Kamala] Harris,” Rogan stated. “Harris comes back as the Vice President and Michelle Obama is the President. We get a double dose of diversity.”

“I really believe if Michelle Obama runs, she wins,” Rogan asserted showing that at heart he is a liberal more interested in the pop culture surrounding the Obamas than actual qualifications to be commander-in-chief. “She’s great, she’s intelligent, she’s articulate, she’s the wife of the best president that we have had in our lifetime in terms of like a representative of intelligent articulate people.”
“The only thing that would stop her is if she bought into some of these policies that are destroying businesses in America that are making people scared,” Rogan stated, making a valid point. “If she somehow or another supported or showed any support for lockdowns and mandates and all this craziness that’s going on.”
