A Michigan school district is raising eyebrows over its promotion of “woke” indoctrination including encouraging students and parents to consider joining a protest for the militant Black Lives Matter movement, yet another example of the radicalization of the nation’s public education system.
The call to enlist under the banner of the Marxist inspired group came during the “21 Day Equity Challenge” that was sponsored by Farmington Public Schools as a way to “more effectively understand and celebrate our differences” and to empower “each student to become a thoughtful, contributing citizen in a changing world.”
As a part of the day designated for addressing microaggressions, the previously accepted ideas that “America is a land of opportunity” and that “everyone can succeed in this society, if they work hard enough” are taught to be the equivalent of saying that “people of color are lazy and/or incompetent and need to work harder.”

Also included among the daily themes were, wealth inequality, gender and sexuality, religious diversity, and implicit bias.
According to the district’s website, “Our Mission Statement is ‘Farmington Public Schools, together with our community, will engage every student in a quality experience, empowering each student to become a thoughtful, contributing citizen in a changing world.’ With this in mind, we, together with you, hope to deepen our understanding about the members of our community and to use this knowledge to confront bigotry, hatred, and discrimination against any individual or group.”
The call to join a BLM or affiliated protest came at the finale of the program as a part of a checklist to “create your own personal action plan,” a document created by the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media which bears the name of the actress/founder who co-starred with fellow activist Susan Sarandon in the iconic 1991 gal-pal movie, “Thelma & Louise.”
The checklist also includes an option to “Donate to bail efforts supporting people arrested for protesting against injustice,” which some may interpret as supporting the type of violent rioters who were routinely sprung during last summer’s widespread unrest in the aftermath of the unfortunate death of George Floyd when cities from coast to coast erupted in burning, looting, and mayhem.

The existence of the district’s equity challenge calendar comes courtesy of the conservative Young America’s Foundation which was notified through its campus bias tip line.

Participation is strictly voluntary, the district states that “These activities are completely optional and you may participate in as many or as few of the activities as you would like. The challenges will remain available throughout the month of December if you would like to participate, but need additional time.”
