A star of the popular animated series “Bob’s Burgers” was reportedly fired from his job due to his alleged presence at the so-called “insurrection” that took place at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, the latest attendee to have their life upended over a protest that went badly awry.

Jay Johnston, the 53-year-old actor who did the voice for the character Jimmy Pesto was jettisoned from his spot on the long-running Fox show, a disappointment for fans but a big score for leftists who can now tack up another scalp on their trophy wall.

The news of Johnston’s termination was broken by an influential leftist website which cited “two people familiar the matter” confirming that when “Bob’s Burgers” opens its 12th season, Mr. Pesto will have another voice.

The Daily Beast reported that, “top staff at the long-running animated sitcom Bob’s Burgers are no longer allowing Johnston to voice his recurring character — Jimmy Pesto Sr. — on the critically lauded Fox show.”

“One of the sources described it as a “ban.” The other individual familiar with the matter described the situation similarly, adding that the Bob’s Burgers cast and crew, as well as Fox, were not looking to make “a big deal” about the current blacklisting of the apparent insurrection-attendee,” the website added.

Speculation that Johnston was present on the day that began as a peaceful protest but quickly spiraled out of control, resulting in am occupation of the Capitol that briefly halted the certifying of the Electoral College vote, has swirled since the FBI posted an image that some likened to Johnston.

According to the Daily Beast, “Johnston, Fox and the staff of Bob’s Burgers have never publicly confirmed that that was, in fact, Johnston’s face that the FBI published in a poster soliciting tips about a possible riot suspect. Johnston has not been arrested or charged with a crime.”

The story singles out some of Johnston’s former colleagues who claimed that the man in the FBI’s picture was him.

“I’m no detective, but I do know Jay. He said he was there. And that’s him in the picture. So….” tweeted actress Cassandra Church who previously worked with Johnston.

Another actor identified as Spencer Crittenden, wrote that he was “also a craven Trump supporter and was there at the time,” in a tweet that has since been deleted.  Also cited was Tim Heidecker a writer who guest starred on “Bob’s Burgers” who tweeted that “had fully confirmed through reliable sources” that the man in the poster was Johnston, “it’s Jay” he wrote in another tweet that has been deleted.

The Daily Beast was unable to get anyone on record to comment, “On Friday, a Fox spokesperson simply told The Daily Beast, “Thanks for reaching out, FOX has no comment” on this story, and a Disney spokesperson similarly replied, “We will not be providing a comment.” Johnston could not be reached for comment, and phone calls were not returned as of Friday afternoon,” the website admitted.

Twitter users weighed in on Johnston’s cancelation.

Johnston is best known for his role in the 1990s HBO series “Mr. Show with Bob and David” where he co-starred with Bob Odenkirk who would go on to fame as ethically challenged lawyer Saul Goodman in “Breaking Bad” and it’s spinoff “Better Call Saul.”

Additionally, Johnston had a recurring role on the sitcom “Arrested Development,” he also stared with Jimmy Kimmel’s ex-girlfriend “The Sarah Silverman Program” during its three-year run on Comedy Central but none were more popular than voicing Jimmy Pesto.
