The crew on the top-rated Fox News show “The Five” called out “broken, irrelevant loser” David Frum, the former George W. Bush speechwriter, for proposing to “quietly” transform unvaxxed persons into second-class citizens when it comes to healthcare, primarily in the emergency room.

This recommendation, which co-host Jesse Watters characterized as a “truly despicable idea,” comes, for example, amid reports that fully vaxxed (however that term is currently defined) persons can get and spread COVID-19, including professional athletes in peak physical condition.

As part of a long series of tweets, Frum, the Never Trumper who writes for The Atlantic magazine, suggested on Twitter: “Let hospitals quietly triage emergency care to serve the unvaccinated last.”

Vaccine hawk Frum, who in a separate tweet seemed to describe unvaxxed persons as a “malignant minority,” also contends that the Russian collusion hoax is real.

Frum “is a broken man,” Greg Gutfeld said in the clip embedded above. “This is a man suffering from irrelevance, and this is all he has left. So he’s pretty much just lashing out. Everybody knows people who haven’t been vaccinated for legitimate reasons, and there are therapeutics that can help, and so on, so just he’s doing this because he’s a sad, sad loser.”

“The David Frum idea is, as you say, quite despicable,” Dana Perino added in reference to her former Bush administration colleague, “but it’s also ridiculous because there are easy ways to treat it now with amazing advances in science. Speaking of science, the Democrats continue to get farther and farther away from it.”

Extending Frum’s logic might mean perhaps that overweight people might also be triaged given the CDC noted in a March 2021 study that obesity is one of the primary co-morbidities for COVID.

“Now researchers have found that the coronavirus infects both fat cells and certain immune cells within body fat, prompting a damaging defensive response in the body,” the New York Times reported earlier this month. “If the findings hold up, they may shed light not just on why patients with excess pounds are vulnerable to the virus, but also on why certain younger adults with no other risks become so ill…The finding is particularly relevant to the United States, which has one of the highest rates of obesity in the world.”

Perino also chided authoritarian and often hypocritical Democrats for seemingly learning nothing from the Virginia and New Jersey elections (in the latter case, narrowly holding on to the governorship) where many voters using their ballot expressed opposition to draconian and arbitrary mandates and lockdowns.

“Then you had the other problem where you have ‘fancy people’ can go to a big party and mingle around without a mask but everybody who works there had to wear a mask. So there’s a huge disconnect in the inequality; this shaming is really big,” she said.

Perino took a dim view of a “no jab, no fly” narrative from U.S. Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.), another Russia-gater. “If you want to see Americans have a complete and total backlash, go ahead and have Eric Swalwell be the face of telling Americans that you are no longer allowed to travel. See how that goes.”

“Flights are dangerous enough with everybody throwing haymakers at each other,” Waters quipped, alluding to the various on-board (or in the terminal) brawls that have occurred.

On his show, Tucker Carlson also blasted the social media message from the man “who helped plan the Iraq War.”

“What does [his tweet] mean? It means let them die. Murder them. This is evil. David Frum is an evil man. He has long encouraged violence against the weak. That’s the sum of his career. But in this case, suddenly he is hardly alone. Many in Washington, New York, and Los Angeles, are talking like that now,” he said.

In a prior broadcast, Carlson opined that “The Atlantic is owned by Steve Jobs’ widow. It functions as kind of a modern social register, a place for the ruling class to talk to itself.”

Later in the “The Five” segment, Gutfeld suggested that the public wants risk management when it comes to COVID, while politicians are “into lawyer management…government now is incompatible with the people it represents.”

He added that the country metaphorically needs a hostage negotiator: “Our leaders are being held hostage by lawyers and insurance companies…and they, in turn, are holding the American public hostage…”

Frum is not winning any converts on social media either. Here is a sample:
