Biden self-owns on skyrocketing prices: ‘Did you ever think you’d be paying this much for a gallon of gas?’

Skyrocketing prices are putting a serious hurting on Americans as the effects of the Biden administration’s disastrous policies are hitting pocketbooks and squeezing budgets just two weeks before the holiday season which stands to be seriously downsized in millions of homes across the nation.

Nowhere is the economic pain more obvious than at the pump where gas prices have spiked, reaching the highest level in years with no ceiling in sight, a serious problem for Democrats who, after being pulverized in last week’s off-year elections in Virginia and New Jersey, stand to face a major reckoning in next year’s critical midterms.

Despite the ongoing suffering of ordinary people who are increasingly struggling to put food on the table let alone gifts under the Christmas tree, there continues to be an aura of indifference emanating from the White House as the radical overhaul of the nation’s energy policy and the leftist ideology that has replaced sound governance makes it increasingly clear that President Joe Biden is not up to the job.

On Wednesday, the “leader” of the nation spoke in Baltimore where he touted the newly passed infrastructure bill while committing one of his trademark gaffes, a self-own on the staggering cost of a gallon of gas that didn’t come out the way that he likely intended it to.

“Did you ever think you’d be paying this much for a gallon of gas?” he asked. “In some parts of California, they’re paying four dollars and fifty cents a gallon.”

Biden’s blunder came during a speech that put a rosy spin on the economic woes that are piling up on a daily basis, including an unprecedented supply chain disruption as a result of backlogged ports, a major problem that his administration and especially Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg have failed to adequately address.

The POTUS engaged in the gaslighting that has been the trademark of his administration.

“So, on the one hand, we’re facing new disruptions to our supplies. But at the same time, we’re also experiencing higher demand for goods because wages are up, as well as — as well as people have money in the bank. And because of the strength of our economic recovery, American families have been able to buy more products,” he said.

Biden added, “But guess what? They’re not going out to dinner and lunch and going to the local bars because of COVID. So what are they doing? They’re staying home, they’re ordering online, and they’re buying product. Well, with more people with money buying product and less product to buy, what happens? The supply chain is the reason, and the answer is you guys — and I’ll get to that in a minute — but what happens? Prices go up.”

“So, we got nearly 20 percent more goods coming into the country than we did before the pandemic struck. In 19 day- — excuse me — COVID-19 has changed the way we spend our time and our money. More products are being delivered than ever before,” he continued, casting blame for the shortages on Americans’ buying habits.

Biden’s remarks came on the same day that the latest Consumer Price Index (CPI) showed that inflation surged to its highest level in over 30 years with October’s basket of products up 6.2 percent from a year ago.

Users took to Twitter to respond to Biden’s puzzling remark about gas prices.

In related news that won’t bring relief to Americans, the White House was forced to admit that it is currently studying the shutdown of another major oil pipeline after bulldog Fox News reporter Peter Doocy put deputy press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on the spot that the Line 5 pipeline – which transports around 540,000 barrels of oil and gas through Michigan and Wisconsin – is on the chopping block.

Despite the evidence that his policies have been an abject failure, Biden continues to hustle his “Build Back Better” agenda, a Trojan horse for the Green New Deal.

While it didn’t get much attention in the mainstream media, damning video of Saule Omarova, Biden’s choice to be the comptroller of the currency was unearthed with the avowed Marxist stating that the domestic fossil fuel industry had to be bankrupted in order to fight climate change.

The lunatics are truly running the asylum now.
