Former Democrat Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii triggered establishment leftists into fits of rage late this week by posting an honest assessment of the border crisis.
Unlike virtually every other Democrat, the outspoken firebrand acknowledged the crisis in full and, more importantly, pinned the blame for it on the correct culprits.
She provided the candid but caustic assessment in two tweets — one posted late Wednesday evening, and the other posted early Thursday morning.
“@JoeBiden @KamalaHarris, the humanitarian and national security crisis on the southern border is the direct result of your open-border policy. As I said in my 2020 presidential campaign, we can’t have a secure nation if we don’t secure our borders,” her first tweet reads.
“The Biden/Harris open-door policy has been a disaster. It needs to end now. The main beneficiaries of open borders are the gangs, cartels, and human traffickers. The Trump policy of having people wait on the other side of the border worked and needs to be reinstated,” her second tweet continues.

She not only correctly noted that the current border result is the “direct result” of the Biden administration’s “open-border policy,” but she even praised former President Donald Trump for the policies he’d used to secure the border.
The two-pronged attack — all of it factually accurate — naturally triggered President Joe Biden’s most devoted sycophants into fits of rage.
And not surprisingly, they chose to resort to the same snide insults and smears that they’ve been aiming at Gabbard ever since she snubbed failed Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton in the 2016 general election.
Here’s a sample of the hate (*Language warning):
This bitch @TulsiGabbard is the worst and she’s loved by this coterie of white nationalist cretins Jimmy Dore, Joe Rogan, Bert Greenwald, that Assad lover brute Max Blumenthal, class reductionist idiot Matt Taibbi, the two bimbos from Red Scare https://t.co/tqK9sbsZmV

Her more sane critics maintained their professionalism but cast doubt on her factually accurate observations about the border crisis.
Why are you making things up?

What “open border” policy?

We don’t have an “open border policy.” Weird flex amplifying rightwing talking points so gleefully.

This is the same rhetoric they use when addressing crime (“what crime wave!?“), censorship (“nobody’s being censored!”) and “cancel culture” (“there’s no such thing as ‘cancel culture!'”), no matter how much evidence is presented to them.
Regarding the border, the evidence is especially extensive.
The Associated Press reported Wednesday that “many” of the Haitian migrants camped out along the southern U.S. border near Del Rio “are being released in the United States, according to two U.S. officials, undercutting the Biden administration’s public statements that the thousands in the camp faced immediate expulsion to Haiti.”
One could argue that a nation where migrants — “many,” to boot — are released willy nilly into the interior is in effect an open-borders nation.

Blue check-mark Libs demanding Biden have full open borders.
They see nothing wrong with 10,500 illegal immigrants massing under the Del Rio bridge, and 1000s more coming every day.
This is not “enlightened.”

Speaking on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle” late Wednesday, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz pointed out that 1.2 million illegal migrants have crossed into the U.S. since Biden took office in January.
The problem, he continued, is that Biden just can’t stop himself from incentivizing more and more illegal migration.
“On Sept. 8 there were roughly 900 Haitians that were scheduled to be on airplanes to go back to Haiti and the Biden administration canceled those flights. They said, ‘We’re not gonna deport you. You can stay here. You can remain in America,'” Cruz revealed.
“And what happened was simple. Those 900 Haitians, they pulled out their phones. And they got their phone and they called their families, they called their friends. They texted their family and friends. … I was down in Del Rio eight days later on Sept. 16. The day I was there, 700 people had become 10,503,” he added.
