Illinois school ‘staff member’ who called student a ‘piece of s**t’ over mask promptly resigns

An Illinois high school  “staff member” has reportedly resigned after a viral video caught the employee calling a student “a piece of sh–” for apparently not muzzling himself appropriately per state mandates.

The “staff member” involved “has resigned and will no longer be working in District 87,” according to a statement by Principal John Mensik of Glenbard North High School issued to Fox News late Friday.

The video was captioned, “My friend had his mask under his nose, and this Karen went crazy, got up in his face and cuzed (sic) at him.”

The man can be seen in the clip with his own mask hypocritically hovering well below his nose.

“Are you playing?” the student asks the alleged teacher at the Carol Stream, Illinois school.

“No, I’m not! Otherwise, I will call the police. I’m serious!” the adult responded, obviously annoyed, adding that he “had enough of it.”

“I knew you were going to take off your mask the moment I turned the corner,” the staff member accused the student before threatening him with an in-school suspension where he would have to “sit in a room with a military guy all day.”

“Because you’re a piece of sh–,” he told the young man before walking off camera.

The footage has been viewed more than 320,000 times and the Twitter account that released it named the teacher allegedly seen cussing at the student in the video.

Many people took notice that the mask Karen’s own facial covering was not even covering his nose in the prescribed Centers for Disease control fashion.

Mensik sent a note to parents in response to the disturbing footage, explaining that it would be dealt with “in an appropriate manner,” Fox News reoprted.

The principal also reminded parents that Democratic Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker had issued a mask mandate that required masks in schools. He further explained that there could be harsh consequences for non-compliance as outlined in a letter sent to each district before the start of the school year by the Illinois superintendent of schools.

“The letter also stated that schools not following the mask mandate would become unrecognizable by the Illinois State Board of Education meaning that students could lose out on scholarship money, not be able to compete in IHSA athletic programs, and colleges could penalize students for not having an accredited high school diploma,” the principal wrote.

There is also an unconfirmed report of the student recording the video being punished.

Others claim that the recording only began after the student taunted the alleged teacher.

Regardless of the cause of the teacher’s temper tantrum, others provided succinct summaries of the incident and explained in very simple terms the totality of the situation.
