Greg Kelly: Media bears blame for Afghan debacle for failing to ‘pressure-test’ Biden in 2020

The media love the blame game and are the first to point fingers at whomever they deem responsible for a crisis, but as Newsmax host Greg Kelley pointed out so astutely in his latest monologue, when it comes to failures by the Biden administration, the media should be pointing their fingers at themselves.

After showing a montage of Biden’s bizarre media routine, Kelley got back to his point and hammered Biden’s incompetence and the media’s complicity.

“The political press, they say they exist so they can vet these people for us. To apply pressure, to pressure-test (presidential) candidates to see how they perform at the presidential level. The thing is, they never really did that for Joe Biden. They backed off big time when Covid started. Then Joe Biden, literally, became untouchable,” he asserted of Biden’s media coverage during his 2020 campaign.

“And of course, they had to do anything to get Donald Trump out. So it was hands-off coverage,” Kelly continued. “And what are we left with? A guy who can’t handle the job. And now babies are subject to this… Joe Biden bears a lot of responsibility. But so do his supporters in the media.”

The Newsmax host then pointed to a direct consequence of the media’s failure to vet Biden seen in the current Afghanistan crisis– mothers handing their babies over fences to U.S. soldiers in the hopes they will be brought on the rescue plane to a better, safer life in America.

“All I can say is, the fake news media just doesn’t get it do they,” Kelly quoted former President Trump as he alleged the media’s complicity in the Afghanistan failure.

Kelly says the media should have been all over President Biden, but they weren’t and now we’re reaping the consequences– a disaster that could have been avoided in Afghanistan.

The Newsmax host blames the media’s failure to pressure test Joe Biden for a big part of where the country is now.

“Covid, Covid was his way out. Covid, according to his own campaign, was the best thing to ever happen to Joe Biden because with Covid, you couldn’t get up close and personal, you couldn’t really pressure him. You couldn’t ask intense questions you only had four in a room standing in circles, and they protected him every step of the way,” Kelly explained.

Why would the self-proclaimed “unbiased” media do such a thing? “They hated Donald Trump that much, they really did,” Kelly claims.

“These are some stunning examples. How they stepped in as referees, called the game for Joe Biden during the game,” the Newsmax host went on pointing to a clip of Fox News’ Chris Wallace in the first 2020 presidential debate shutting down Trump trying to talk about Hunter Biden’s corruption problems.

When President Trump brought up Hunter Biden and issues of corruption, Chris Wallace slid in to stop the conversation showing clear bias and mercy toward the Biden campaign.

“I want to talk about climate change,” says Wallace. “So do I,” Biden affirms.

“They all did this by the way,” Kelly noted as he showed a clip of the NBC Trump-Biden debate where Trump was shut down for calling Biden a “corrupt politician.”

“I want to talk about race” interrupts the moderator.

Kelly then cuts to Norah O’Donnell on CBS asking Biden if a lot of people will vote for him “simply because you’re not Donald Trump?”

“See what they did? They didn’t pressure-test him, and pressure comes with the job of being president. Why is he making such bad decisions now? We could have known this a long time ago. I knew it, but not everybody did,” he maintained.

He pointed to journalists  like George Stephanopoulos who claim to be neutral, but in this particular example, we know Stephanopoulos worked for Bill Clinton’s campaign.

“The game is rigged and they never stop lying. Especially when they raise their voices and promise that they’re going to ‘fight for us’,” Kelly says of Democrats. He notes the President Trump really did fight for Americans and that the media “hated it”.

Now instead of being there for the American people “we saw Joe Biden run yesterday,” Kelly notes as he aired a clip of Biden abruptly exiting his press briefing.

America may be stuck with an incompetent commander in chief, but it’s time for the media to atone for their calculated dishonesty and hold President Biden accountable for the disaster in Afghanistan.
