A baby seen in a viral video being hoisted up and over a barbed-wire fence at the Kabul airport and passed off to a United States Marine is reported to be safe inside the airport.
The baby’s father also made it to the safety of the airport where they reunited and the Marine was identified.
“I can confirm the uniformed service member depicted in the video is a Marine with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit,” Marine Corps spokesman Maj. Jim Stenger said in a statement. “The baby seen in the video was taken to a medical treatment facility on-site and cared for by medical professionals.”
It’s difficult to imagine how bleak the circumstances are in Afghanistan that led the father to throw his baby above his head and entrust the life of the tiny diapered tot to an American stranger.
The chaos & fear of people is a testament to the international community’s role in AFG’s downfall & their subsequent abandonment of Afghan people. The future for AFG has bn decided for its people without its people’s vote & now they live at the mercy of a terrorist group. #Kabul pic.twitter.com/k4bevc2eHE

“This is a true example of the professionalism of the Marines on site, who are making quick decisions in a dynamic situation in support of evacuation operation,” Stenger said.

Many applauded the Marine for his quick actions to bring the baby to safety while others couldn’t help but question the desperation in Afghanistan that brought the situation to life.
Beautiful reach big heart on that service member ooorah

It’s so hard to imagine the desperation of wanting to save your baby this way. My soul aches for them.

This video has left me crying & praying for Afghanistan since seeing it earlier today. I am in shock seeing how world leaders including our own President has left you. There are no words. May God intervene, confuse & remove the enemies & Glorify His Name 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

As the Afghan country’s President Ashraf Ghani fled the country on Sunday, the lightning-fast unraveling of the situation in Afghanistan has shocked the world as frightening and chaotic images such as these have unfolded.
Meanwhile, President Biden has looked on as the feeble helmsman, having completely dismantled former President Trump’s crisis evacuation agency that was aimed at avoiding situations like this and has been struggling to get his facts straight as even the most loyal liberal news agencies have started fact-checking his statements on the crisis.
One particularly egregious lie from Biden claimed that no American with a United States passport was having an issue getting through to the airport. Virtually every major media outlet including The New York Times, Breitbart News, and ABC fact-checked him and brought his credibility into question as countless accounts and videos bubbled to the surface in response to Biden’s lie which showed that there are, indeed, Americans trapped inside the Middle Eastern country.
