Eric Swalwell falls flat on his face when he tries to own Charlie Kirk by revealing private DM

Smarmy, anti-Trump conspiracy theorist Eric Swalwell stumbled into a self-own when he shared on social media an apparent private direct message from Turning Point USA president and  founder Charlie Kirk.

Swalwell apparently thought it was a swell idea to tweet out the communication in which Kirk apparently invited the California Democrat congressman to debate him on a new show under terms that would be “open, honest, and fair.” He also underscored that people can disagree without being disagreeable.

It appears that the Turning Point USA team may have even been willing to cover Swalwell’s tab to join the political discussion, which is called “Debate Night with Charlie Kirk,” at their Phoenix headquarters.

Even if someone is no admirer of Kirk or his organization, the invite itself was professional and courteous and seems legitimate.

Instead of responding in kind, Swalwell — without evidence — rudely accused Kirk of being an insurrectionist and accused him of “lying about the vaccine” and trying “to kill his kids.”

In his Tweet containing the DM, he condescendingly wondered if Charlie Kirk is “for real.”

It seems that Swalwell — who may or may not have had a relationship of some kind with a spy from China — perhaps has given the Trump-Russia collusion hoax a rest and moved on to other unfounded and unreal allegations or delusions.

Rep. Swalwell maintains his membership, incidentally, on the U.S. House Intelligence Committee.

Refusing to debate is a technique that many anti-free-speech Democrats, especially the grandstanding ones, have embraced.

While Eric Swalwell — who enjoys riding camels while shirtless — is receiving Twitter applause from the left for the way he dissed Charlie Kirk, others are chiding him for bad faith. Charlie Kirk himself has not weighed in on Twitter as of this writing.
