The media’s flagrant unwillingness to fact-check President Joe Biden’s repeated lies about Republicans prompted Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to issue his own fact-check Tuesday.

In a video posted to his social media accounts, the Republican governor slammed the president and the Democrat Party as a whole for spreading blatant “misinformation” about virtually anything involving Republicans.

“You might remember, President Biden called me a Neanderthal for opening Texas 100 percent and no masks. It turned out he was wrong. After that opening, Texas COVID numbers improved substantially,” he said as one example.

More recently, the governor continued, Biden has been lying about voter reform bills designed to enhance election security and integrity by instituting common-sense rules such as a requirement that voters display their ID to vote.

“Well, now President Biden is calling Texas names again. This time, he’s chastising us for making it easy to vote but hard to cheat. And once again, President Biden ignores the facts,” Abbott explained.

“The fact is that Texas is passing a law that expands — not reduces — the hours of early voting. That’s more than many states, including President Biden’s home state of Delaware, which has zero hours of early voting,” he added.

Delaware’s voting laws are actually far more restrictive across the board.

“The Texas law also helps to prevent mail-in ballot fraud in Texas. That is an issue that both Republicans and Democrats agree on. It will uphold the integrity of our elections and ensure that Texans who do qualify to vote by mail will have the ability to do so,” Abbott continued before concluding with a zinger.

President Biden and the Democrats must stop the misinformation. Texas is very simply making it easier to vote and harder to cheat,” he said.

Listen to his fact-check below:

The fact-check was desperately needed because the media have, in most cases, chosen to simply ignore the president’s lies.

Case in point:

In other cases, the media have regurgitated his lies wholesale.

But these aren’t just standard-fare lies. They are dangerously hyperbolic lies.

“Using language on Tuesday that the liberal media would suggest was threatening lives if it had come from former President Trump, President Biden accused Republicans and their election integrity efforts of being the greatest threat to American democracy since the Civil War,” the media watchdog group NewsBusters notes.

Yet instead of fact-checking and condemning the president’s hyperbolic lies, “ABC’s World News Tonight, the CBS Evening News, and NBC Nightly News backed his dangerous rhetoric and echoed Democratic lies,” according to NewsBusters.

Over on ABC News, David Muir reportedly said, “President Biden late today in Philadelphia, the birthplace of American democracy, blasting what he calls attacks on voting rights. Republican-led efforts in more than 16 states across the country. The President and that warning, calling it the most significant test of our democracy since the Civil War.”

Wherever you turn, in fact, you can hear so-called “journalists” like him slavishly reciting the president’s lies near-verbatim:

If the media were actually doing their jobs, Abbott would have likely not felt compelled to issue his own fact-check. But with the media constantly acting as the Biden administration’s stenographer, it’s clear that he’d felt that he had no choice.
