Protest over alleged transgender exposure at LA spa turns ugly with Antifa shows up

Protesters outside a Los Angeles spa were attacked Saturday by members of Antifa, who also set their sights on reporters trying to get footage of the event.

The violent extremist group terrorized those gathered outside Wi Spa on Wilshire Boulevard, which was caught up in controversy last week after a customer accused a transgender woman of exposing their penis “right in front of young girls, teens and grown women” attending a women’s day spa.

An event was organized to protest the spa,  but SoCal Antifa showed up two hours earlier for a “No Bigotry in L.A.” rally that quickly turned tense.

While some of the protestors appeared well intentioned on peacefully promoting their cause, videos show that the majority of the “protestors” appear to be Antifa members, clad in black, shielding their faces, and employing violent tactics on reporters and people recording them.

Some Antifa members can be seen wearing masks or vests while toting signs or weapons around the protest.

In one video, a mob of Antifa members chases a man in an “”Obey Jesus” tee shirt down the street. He was punched from behind at least one time and was seen seen with blood pouring out of his face and chest, according to Fox News.

Another clip shows Antifa getting physical with at least two other men while a dumpster is dragged in to the middle of the street and lit on fire.

The mob can be seen here yelling “flank him” as they attack a videographer just trying to do his job.

LAPD officers were on the scene, although they appeared slow to intervene and stop the ensuing violence.

No arrests have been made yet, but there were at least five crimes reported by five separate victims.

LAPD Officer Mike Lopez, a department spokesman, told Fox News Saturday that no arrests had been made but at least five crimes had been reported against five separate victims.

“Three of them were victims of assault and battery, and the other two were assault with deadly weapon,” LAPD officer Mike Lopez said. Police are reportedly “looking” for suspects.

The video that led to the violent outbreak features an unseen woman off camera complaining about a transgender woman in the women’s locker room.

“So, it’s OK for a man to go into the women’s section, show his penis around the other women, young little girls — underage — in your spa? Wi Spa condones that, is that what you’re saying?” the woman asked a staffer.

“Are you talking about a transgender person?” a bystander asks.

“There is no such thing as transgender. He has a d—,” replied the woman holding the camera.

“You’re being a d—,” the man replies.

Wi Spa released a response on the incident:

“As a spa located in Los Angeles, Wi Spa complies with California law prohibiting discrimination by a business, including the Civil Code provision set forth above,” the statement reads. “Like many other metropolitan areas, Los Angeles contains a transgender population, some of whom enjoy visiting a spa. Wi Spa strives to meet the needs and safety of all of its customers, and does not tolerate harassment or lewd conduct by any customer, regardless of their sex, gender, or other characteristic.”

Last year, the Los Angeles City Council voted to cut the LAPD’s budget by $150 million. As a result, the city is seeing a violent crime spike with murders up 22 percent, according to NBC Los Angeles.

Antifa appears to have only become more emboldened in their violent riots and attacks thanks to politicians who refuse to denounce the group and law enforcement response teams less equipped to respond due to funding and resource cuts.
