Fox News’s Sean Hannity excoriated President Joe Biden for his “embarrassing showing” during the second week of his European tour.
Monday night on Fox News Channel’s “Hannity” the show host questioned the president’s general confusion, especially when answering questions from the press. The prime-time host spent significant time summarizing Biden’s trip as he played clips, calling it an “unmitigated failure.”
Hannity voiced grave concern that “foreign leaders were taking advantage of Biden” and predicted the trip will “end in a worldwide economic disaster.”
After concluding a three-day meeting with the Group of Seven (G7) nations on Sunday, Biden continued to Brussels. On Monday, he met with European leaders in his first North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Summit.
During a Summit speech by Biden, European leaders collectively and unreservedly laughed at the president’s apparent confusion – showing little patience for his mistakes.
Hannity, referring to Biden’s interaction with European leaders, stated that he believed that the president is “not up to the job.”
“It is not clear that Joe Biden still possesses the strength, the energy, and the ability to even know what the word ‘tough’ means,” Hannity stated, making a clear reference to the differences between President Donald Trump’s decisive handling of NATO and the European Union versus the confused acquiescence seen in Biden.
“President Putin and Russia want a weak America; a country shackled by global treaties, accords, and energy dependence,” Hannity continued.
The Fox News host also objected to “the ever-growing Socialism found in Biden’s policies, including the president’s seeming support of a global minimum corporate tax rate.”
Hannity accused Biden of being in full support of the “G7 proposal for a 15% global minimum corporate tax rate.”
A global minimum corporate tax rate could reduce multi-national corporate investment in the United States. Support of this tax rate is also meant to crack down on companies that move profits and revenues to low-tax countries and tax havens to reduce their tax burden. According to the United States Treasury Department, this practice by corporations costs the U.S. tens of billions of dollars each year.
Hannity also slammed Biden for not “being prepared or up to the task” over the upcoming meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin – focusing on the newly announced cancellation of the joint press conference between Putin and the U.S. president.
Hannity believes that “America is entering an extremely dangerous time with growing concerns of inflation and energy dependence.”
“As a matter of fact, the entire trip is just the tip of the iceberg, an unmitigated failure, and it’s only going to get worse,” he said.
Wednesday, Biden will be welcomed by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Charles Michel. The leaders are expected to discuss COVID-19, the climate, trade and investment, technology, and foreign affairs.
