Trump/Owens 2024: Candace Owens wants on the ticket, asks Trump ‘Can I be your vice president?’

Conservative firebrand Candace Owens conducted an interview with former President Trump on Tuesday where he teased running for the presidency in 2024 and then she asked him if she could be his vice president.

Trump told Owens in the wide-ranging interview to “stay tuned” when she asked him if he was running in 2024. “As you know, it’s very early,” the former president remarked concerning his potential White House bid during the phone interview with “The Candace Owens Show” for The Daily Wire.

“But I think people are going to be very, very happy when I make a certain announcement,” Trump declared.

He claimed that campaign finance rules are keeping him from making an announcement one way or the other, but he noted: “I look forward to doing an announcement at the right time.”

When Owens asked to be his vice president, Trump thought it was an incredible idea: “What a good choice that would be,” he replied. “That would be fantastic. You would be fantastic!”

“I guess I’ll take you at your word, that in 2024 Trump and Owens are going to be on the ticket,” Owens declared with a smile.

Then Trump took aim at those attacking his wife Melania since they departed the White House: “She’s a confident person, she’s a good person. The people love her,” he remarked to Owens. But he pointed out how the press had unfairly treated the first lady and how she has been unable to win them over: “It’s very very unfair – but she handles it very very well,” Trump proudly stated.

Trump did not pull his punches when it came to Republican Sen. Mitt Romney and President Joe Biden during the interview.

The former president admitted to taking “great pleasure” in watching Romeny getting booed at a conservative convention in Utah last week. “People get it, you know they get it,” he said. “They know phonies and they know people we affectionately call people RINOs [Republicans in name only].”

He ridiculed President Biden for wearing a mask outside after getting vaccinated: “I think he feels he actually looks better in a mask,” Trump snarked.

Trump justifiably took credit for the vaccine rollout. Over 100 million Americans are now fully vaccinated as the country starts to recover from the pandemic. He glowingly reflected on Operation Warp Speed and proclaimed: “Just the vaccine alone, even the enemy calls it a modern-day miracle.”

“They praised Fauci and yet Fauci worked for me, so why aren’t we praised?” wondered Trump.

He promoted his new communications platform “From the Desk of Donald J. Trump” via his website as well. The site will feature statements from Trump and it will directly communicate with his followers since he has been banned on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

“People are leaving Twitter and it’s also become boring,” Trump commented. “Now it’s become very boring, very mundane. And it’s not doing well. Certainly, their stock is going down.”

Senator Ted Cruz also sat with Trump on Tuesday to plot retaking the House and Senate for the Republicans in the 2022 midterm elections. The pre-recorded interview aired during the dinner at Mar-a-Lago.

“Had a great dinner tonight with President Trump at Mar-a-Lago. He’s in great spirits! We spent the evening talking about working together to re-take the House & Senate in 2022,” Cruz enthusiastically tweeted.
