‘Enough with the petty tyrants!’ Fed-up Rand Paul drops the hammer on fun-sucking Fauci, again

U.S. Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), a medical doctor with a specialty in ophthalmology, seems pretty fed up with the continually goal-post-moving director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, career federal bureaucrat Dr. Anthony Fauci.

Paul has famously tangled with Fauci before about science, but took to Twitter to register strong exception to Fauci’s latest pronouncement that it is unsafe even for vaccinated Americans to dine or drink indoors at restaurants.

Paul, a  libertarian-leaning conservative who has previously described Fauci as a fear-monger, is not having it.

“Fauci continues to ignore 100 years of vaccine science. His only real theme is ‘do what I say’ even when it makes no sense. If you’ve recovered or been vaccinated – go about your life. Eat, drink, work, open the schools. Enough with the petty tyrants!,” he wrote today.

Fauci continues to receive cult-like worship from the corporate media and on liberal Twitter. In this instance, he went on MSNBC’s Mehdi Hasan Show to declare it even at this stage in the pandemic, it is still not good to consume food or drink inside an eatery or tavern

“No, it is still not okay for the simple reason that the level of infection, the dynamics of infection in the community, are still really disturbingly high. Like just yesterday, there were close to 80,000 new infections. And we’ve been hanging around 60, 70, 75,000, so if you’re not vaccinated, please get vaccinated as soon as the vaccine becomes available to you. And if you are vaccinated, please remember that you still have to be careful and not get involved in crowded situations, particularly indoors, where people are not wearing masks.

“And for the time being, until we show definitively that a person who’s vaccinated does not get this sub-clinical infection and spread to others you should continue to wear a mask for the time being.”

Watch:

Many have noticed that Fauci seems to spend most of his time on TV talking about COVID rather than looking through a microscope or studying data about COVID, let alone treating patients.

Last month, during a contentious exchange in a Capitol Hill hearing, Paul suggested Fauci was participating in “theater” by wearing two masks after having been vaccinated.

A side note: At the beginning of the pandemic, Fauci publicly discouraged Americans from wearing masks.

In the same MSNBC appearance, Fauci — who Biden promoted to the position of his chief medical advisor — suggested that vaccinated persons might possibly have to get a booster shot in the next year or so “to keep up the level of protection.”

Earlier this month, during another MSNBC interview, Dr. Fauci admitted that he found it confusing that COVID-positive cases seem to be bottoming out in Texas after Gov. Greg Abbott lifted all pandemic-related restrictions, adding that there could variables in the scenario.
