NBC “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd seems to think that a consensus exists for the proposition that climate change is one of the factors that makes the next pandemic unavoidable.
Liberals often cite climate change as a catch-all for all kinds of afflictions. In this instance, Todd — who studied political science at George Washington University — brought climate change into a COVID-19 discussion with Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, on Sunday morning.
“When you think about sadly having to prepare for this again, and I know there’s a lot of folks who think that, due to climate change and due to the globalization in general, it’s inevitable we’re gonna deal with more and more viruses like this. The biggest lesson you’re gonna take away to prepare for the next one?”
Fauci, who spends a disproportionate amount of time opining on TV rather than looking through a microscope, studying data, or treating patients, seemingly deflected the climate change claim, and instead pivoted to the advantages of globalism.

“You know, there are a couple of lessons, Chuck. There are lessons domestically; there are lessons public health-wise and scientifically. Let’s take global to begin with. We have to have a better global health security network of interconnectivity, of communication, of transparency.
“So that we are talking to each other all the time and know what’s going on. We also have to have a continued investment in the science…So, keep the science up, continue to support the public health infrastructure, and remain global in our interactions. As I have said so many times, a global pandemic requires a global response,” Fauci added.
Transparency, of course, would require countries like China and agencies like the World Health Organization to be forthcoming about the origins of any outbreak.
In his list of risk factors, Todd omitted mentioning that the federal government is not administering COVID testing to the thousands of migrants crossing the southern border and then released.
Fauci, who the Biden administration recently promoted to chief medical advisor to the president, also praised the rapid rollout of the vaccines, but without mentioning former President Donald Trump, who initiated an unparalleled private sector-public sector partnership to make that happen.
“If you want to look, Chuck, at the success story in this terrible year has been the extraordinary, unprecedented advance with the vaccine. In January of 2020, we started the process, and 11 months later, we had a highly efficacious vaccine going into the arms of individuals, which is gonna be the answer to this, together with public health measures,” Fauci said.
Twitter reacted to Todd’s climate change connection. Here is just a sampling:
Wait…what? Now “climate change” is behind COVID-19? Seriously? Well I guess if we all stay in our homes forever and never, ever drive, fly or cruise anywhere like good little sheep that would reduce our carbon footprint as well as the spread of any virus.

Wasn’t the virus manufactured in a lab??

Kinda seems like we should focus on what caused this pandemic. It certainly had absolutely nothing to do with climate change, and 100% to do with China.

Can not believe a guy with this thinking gets to stay on tv. And he does it without being embarrassed…I guess that’s his talent

Let us play the game called correlating the uncorrelatable. We can ascribe all possible causes of future events to the ever ubiquitous climate change. Wars check, volcanoes check, inequity check, pandemics check, heatwaves check, cold spells check, food prices check and so on.

Told ya.
They need an explanation for why get can take our lives away more than every 100 years, & “climate change” works perfectly (except for people who actually believe in real science).
This is almost all political & Fauci knows exactly who his fan base is (liberals/media).

Climate change…is there nothing it can’t do?
— Blaknsam (@Blaknsam) March 14, 2021
There’s been epidemics throughout recorded history. Small pox is referenced in 5000 year old writings. Bringing climate change into it as a bid to give government more power to regulate is just sheer evil at work.

Chuck Todd is the same journalist who claimed that the “upside” to the winter storm that ravaged Texas last month was that it motivated people to wear masks. He did apparently pass up the opportunity to blame the storm on climate change.
