Illinois Sen. Tammy Duckworth, a Democrat and retired Army National Guard lieutenant colonel, exploded into a profane rant on Twitter this Thursday against Fox News host Tucker Carlson because of remarks he’d made about the Biden administration’s misplaced priorities.
The hubbub started Monday when President Joe Biden delivered a speech in which he announced that his military is focused on designing body armor for women, creating “maternity flight suits” and updating hairstyle requirements.
Carlson responded in a segment Tuesday on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight” by slamming the president for what he felt were misplaced priorities.
“So we’ve got new hairstyles and maternity flight suits. Pregnant women are going to fight our wars. It’s a mockery of the U.S. military,” he argued.
“While China’s military become more masculine as it’s assembled the world’s largest navy, our military needs to become — as Joe Biden says, more feminine, whatever feminine means anymore, since men and women no longer exist. The bottom line is, it’s out of control, and the Pentagon is going along with this. Again, this is a mockery of the U.S. military and its core mission, which is winning wars,” the host added.
Duckworth disagreed with this assessment and let Carlson know as such via the profane tweets below that were posted two days later (*Language warning):
F*ck Tucker Carlson. While he was practicing his two-step, America’s female warriors were hunting down Al Qaeda and proving the strength of America’s women.
Happy belated International Women’s Day to everyone but Tucker, who even I can dance better than. pic.twitter.com/E4wchht9lA

Help me remind hacks like Tucker how capable our female warriors are. https://t.co/vHHSqnDizv

Her palpable anger was echoed by virtually everybody on the left, from mainstream media figures to even officials within Biden’s Pentagon.
The United States Department of Defense published a page on its website dedicated solely to this pseudo scandal. View a screenshot below:
The page contains a rebuke of Carlson from DoD press secretary John Kirby. What’s telling is that the rebuke is nothing but a virtue-signal about “diversity.”
“I want to be very clear right up front, that the diversity of our military is one of our greatest strengths. I’ve seen it for myself in long months at sea and in the combat waged by our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. I’ve seen it up on Capitol Hill just this past month. And I see it every day here right at the Pentagon,” the rebuke reads.
“To be sure, we still have a lot of work to do to make our military more inclusive, more respectful of everyone, especially women. We pledge to do better, and we will. What we absolutely won’t do is take personnel advice from a talk show host or the Chinese military.”
Carlson responded to the bashing from both Duckworth and Kirby during a “Tucker Carlson Tonight” segment late Thursday by pondering why the military seems to be more focused on being “woke” than on winning wars.

“The rest of us depend on the U.S. military to protect our families and to protect the country itself. But Joe Biden doesn’t see it that way. Finding the most effective military pilots — or infantry officers, or SEAL teams — is not his priority. It’s not even close to his priority. Identity politics is Joe Biden’s priority. It’s all that matters,” he said.
As an example, he cited a decision announced by the administration this week to begin funding sex reassignment surgery for transgender military personnel.
“How do sex changes in the military make this country safer? That’s not a trick question, it’s not another volley in the culture war. It’s the only question that matters — literally…But no one bothered to ask it, probably because no one can remember why the U.S. military exists,” Carlson wondered.
Plus, he added, it’s now a faux pas to dissent.
“If you dare to point any of this out, they become hysterical…because they can’t defend their own policies. When people can’t defend what they’ve done, they yell. They can’t clearly explain what those policies are, at least publicly. So they attack,” he said.
Duckworth’s profane posts are a perfect example of this, the Fox News host continued.
“You hear politicians like Sen. Tammy Duckworth, D-Ill. say that it’s unpatriotic to question the Pentagon unless you’ve served in the military yourself. You haven’t earned that right. Really? Can only cops talk about police brutality? If you haven’t been elected to office, are you allowed to criticize Congress? They’re not making a real argument. They’re trying to silence dissent,” he said.
In fact, it seems all left-wingers are trying to silence dissent.

Turning to the Pentagon’s attacks on him, the Fox News host said “this is bigger than a feud with some flack at the Pentagon” — this is about the country’s future.
“If China moved against Taiwan, how exactly would we respond? More likely, if the Chinese decided to close international shipping lanes, it would cripple our economy. If they decided to shut down our internet, it would bring our life to a halt,” he said.
“If they decided to occupy Malaysia, that would be a grave concern to the world. If any of these things happen, or 100 other things that might take place, actually happen, what exactly would our Pentagon do about it? Can the U.S. military still win a real war?”
Carlson concluded, “Those are the questions that matter. Those are the only questions that matter, which may be why Joe Biden wants to talk about maternity flight suits.”
Not to mention diversity, inclusion and a thousand other things that have nothing — absolutely nothing — to do with keeping the United States safe.
