White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki says that a sexual harassment investigation is warranted now that two women have accused Democrat New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo of misbehavior. Cuomo has denied behaving improperly with accuser number two, Charlotte Bennett, a former aide.
In an appearance on CNN’s State of the Union, Psaki dodged answering whether her “consistent” boss President Joe Biden believes Bennett or Cuomo, who Bash first identified as network colleague Chris Cuomo, the governor’s obsessively anti-Trump little brother.
“Well, first, President Biden has been consistent that he believes that every woman should be heard, should be treated with respect and with dignity. Charlotte should be treated with respect and dignity. So should Lindsey [Boylan],” Psaki said.
“And there should be an independent review looking into these allegations, and that’s certainly something he supports,” the press secretary added, “and, we believe, should move forward as quickly as possible.”
Bash recalled how candidate Biden in September 2018 more or less said to believe all women (although not in those exact words), prompting this word salad from Psaki. Parenthetically, CNN has hardly been aggressive in chronicling the Cuomo scandals.
“Of course, Dana, he believes — that’s why I said, he believes that every woman who comes forward should be treated with dignity and respect. They should be able to tell their story,” Psaki said, when Bash pressed on whether Biden believes the “essence of the allegations are real.”
“There should be an independent review of these allegations. They’re serious. It was hard to read that story as a woman. And that process should move forward as quickly as possible, and that’s something we all support, and the president supports,” Psaki concluded.

You may recall that former Senate staffer Tara Reade accused Joe Biden of a 1993 sexual assault, which Biden denied.

Democrats appear to be turning against the longtime governor as a result of these accusations. For example, although backing an independent investigation, influential state senator Alessandra Biaggi has called upon Cuomo to resign apparently because she’s heard enough.
Cuomo’s fellow Democrats may be abandoning him for another reason.
Corporate media favorite Cuomo is also likely facing an investigation and possible impeachment arising from the alleged coverup of thousands of additional COVID-related fatalities as a result of the governor’s catastrophic executive order sending coronavirus-infected patients into nursing homes. This was a ghastly decision for which Fox News meteorologist Janice Dean almost single-handedly held Cuomo’s feet to the fire.

The Cuomo administration may have concealed the actual death toll for political reasons during the presidential campaign, i.e., they were reportedly afraid that President Trump would make an issue of it and Trump’s Justice Department would appropriately launch a probe.

The nursing home revelations came to light after New York’s far-left Attorney General released a report in January 2021 that indicated that the nursing home deaths in the state were underreported by as much as 56 percent.

In a critique of the governor before the second harassment allegation emerged, New York Post columnist Miranda Devine implied that it was an open secret that Cuomo — who published a book touting his COVID-related, so-called leadership and won an Emmy for his grandstanding televised press conferences — was a bully, but the media and the political establishment played along.
“Already under fire over the nursing-home scandal, Cuomo can add ‘sexual predator’ to the long list of allegations that has both Democrats and Republicans demanding that he resign or be impeached…Cuomo’s hysterical, muddled response to the pandemic delivered us the second highest COVID death rate in the country,” Devine wrote.
“The media adulation wasn’t just because he had a sycophantic brother over at CNN,” she continued. “It was because his briefings were a tool for belittling Trump and blaming him for every COVID death. Democrats would have worshipped at the feet of Caligula if the governor made Trump look bad. At least Cuomo’s downfall goes to show that bullies don’t prosper if their victims fight back.”
