Far-left mainstream media commentators Jonathan Chait and Chris Hayes are facing the wrath of their base for the crime of sort of, just barely standing up for Gina Carano.

The backlash began Friday when Chait, a contributor for New York magazine, published a piece equating the actress’s termination from Disney to the Hollywood blacklists of the 1940’s and 1950’s.

“In the late 1940s and 1950s, Hollywood studios — under pressure from the right — promised they would not ‘knowingly employ a communist.’ This blacklist eventually became notorious, especially in Hollywood, which came to lionize its victims in several films. And yet it is becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish the blacklist policy from the emerging current treatment of right-wingers,” he wrote.

The evidence suggests he’s right. After all, it wasn’t that long ago that two Hollywood stars proudly called for the blacklisting of any Hollywood actor or actress who supported then-President Donald Trump.

And it’s not hard to find high-profile conservative figures and pundits, including Ben Shapiro, who are forced to keep their friendships with certain Hollywood figures secret, lest those figures be targeted by the mob and lose their livelihoods.

Nevertheless, after Chait shared his story to Twitter, it quickly garnered a ratio approaching 200 thanks to a mob of leftists screeching at him about Carano’s alleged crimes. Look, and take note of the complaints (*Language warning):

Carano’s most recent alleged crime — the one that got her fired by Disney — involved her using an “overweight” Holocaust comparison to warn of the Hitlerian nature of the boiling-hot political climate in America.

Actual Jews like Chait and conservative commentator Ben Shapiro have dismissed the claim that what she’d posted was antisemitic.

Take a look at a screenshot below and decide for yourself:

Her other alleged crimes include not respecting the left’s obsession with pronouns, mocking the left’s obsession with mask policing, not offering support to the deadly Black Lives Matter riots and being willing to be open-minded about allegations of fraud/impropriety vis-a-vis the 2020 election.

Her crime basically is not being a left-wing zealot. It’s a crime that many have faced consequences for perpetrating in this day and age:

Example 1: “Vermont principal fired for politely expressing on her personal Facebook page how she feels about BLM”

Example 2: “Student journalist fired for tweeting Jacob Blake’s criminal history fights back hard, attorney puts school on notice”

Example 3: “‘Apolitical’ Michigan teacher says he was fired after tweeting, ‘Trump is our president’”

Example 4: “Denver Post columnist, fired for writing there are only ‘two sexes,’ explains chilling truth about PC left”

Example 5: “OK State University coach releases second apology for wearing OAN shirt, comes off like hostage video”

With these examples appearing so frequently, Chait will be lucky if he too isn’t cancelled sometime sooner than later. The same goes for Hayes, who got in on the action by retweeting Chait’s piece and including his stamp of approval.

Look:

The tweet above has a ratio above 200 percent thanks to members of MSNBC’s arguably radicalized base shrieking in fury over Hayes not toeing the party line.

Look:

What makes their complaints all the more questionable is that they’ve said nothing about Disney refusing to fire all the left-wing actors and film producers who’ve also made “overweight” Holocaust/Nazi comparisons.

It’s almost like there’s some sort of double standard
