An Oregon doctor has had his medical license revoked for speaking a little too openly and freely about his violations of the state’s coronavirus mask mandate.

During a “Stop the Steal” rally outside the Oregon State Capitol on Nov. 7th, Dr. Steven LaTulippe admitted to not wearing a mask around his patients and claimed COVID-19 is “a common cold virus that’s been with us forever.”

Describing himself as a “practicing physician in Dallas, Oregon,” as well as a retired Air Force officer and ordained minister, LaTulippe began his speech at the rally by admitting that his clinic hasn’t abided by any of the state’s coronavirus rules.

I hate to tell you this — it might scare you — but I and my staff, none of us, once wore a mask in my clinic,” he said.

And yet, he claimed, none of his patients have contracted the virus because of this policy.

“And how many problems did we have in our clinic from that? Zero. Absolutely none. I treated approximately 75 cases of COVID. The last time I saw a COVID patient was on Feb. 10th of this past year. I’ve seen nothing this year. I’ve seen no flu yet this year,” he added.

Notice how he referred to the coronavirus as the “flu.”

“We have been utterly duped, and I want you to know that this is insanity, and the purpose was only to shut down the American people. This is a threat to your freedom, a threat to our Constitution,” he continued.

“I petition all of you please take off the mask of shame. It is a mask that is just designed to control you and to shut you down. The virology of COVID — the diameter of coronavirus — is 0.13 diameters. The best N95 standard mask filters down to 0.3 microns. The great example of it is saying I’m going to put up a chain link fence to block the mosquitoes.”

The speech concluded with LaTulippe arguing that mask mandates and other coronavirus health restrictions are “oppression.”

“This is utter stupidity. It is nothing more than to control you.  COVID is nonsense. The virus is real, yes. It’s a common cold virus that’s been with us forever. Please don’t be duped. You have an immune system,” he said.

“I treated 75 cases. They were all better in a week. Not one of my patients went to the hospital. Not one of them was admitted for coronavirus. Do not let them put you into a state of fear. That is oppression. Thank you.”

The video footage seen above eventually found its way to the Oregon Medical Board, which in turn responded this week by indefinitely suspending LaTulippe’s license.

“At 5:15 p.m., on December 3, 2020, the Board voted to issue an Order of Emergency Suspension to immediately suspend Licensee’s medical license due to the Board’s concern for the safety and welfare of Licensee’s current and future patients,” a statement on the board’s official government website reads.

The order itself states that LaTulippe’s “continued practice of medicine … presents a serious danger to the public health or safety.”

As justification for the suspension, the board cited a slew of facts, some of them presumably obtained from listening to LaTulippe’s speech at the “Stop the Steal” rally, and others apparently uncovered from an investigation.

For instance, the board cited the case of a patient who’d asked LaTulippe’s staff for “guidance on when and if to be tested for COVID-19” on July 2nd.

The patient was “told asymptomatic persons should not be tested, that wearing masks does not prevent transmission of COVID-19, and was directed not to self-isolate because being around other people would provide [them] with immunity to COVID-19.”

All these statements contradict guidance not only from Oregon’s healthcare officials but also the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

A couple weeks later, the unidentified informant “was terminated as a patient” after he questioned the validity of the clinic’s COVID recommendations.

In a phone interview with NBC News this week, LaTulippe doubled down on his unorthodox views.

“I have absolutely zero problems with infectivity, and I have completely successful treatments, so I ask, ‘What is the problem?’ Why would I be demonized if I know what I’m doing?” he said.

“I have a very rigid virus and flu-season protocol at my clinic, and it has worked very well for me for years,” he continued. “I’ve never had any of my staff or myself get sick.”

He added that he believes in science but is convinced it’s become corrupted by politics:

“I’m very interested in sound medical practice, and I’m interested in good science. And when science and medicine become perverted with corrupt politics, then I’m up for a fight, and that’s what made me go to that rally and say what I said.”

This sentiment does admittedly jibe with what Dr. Scott Atlas, a former member of the Trump administration’s coronavirus task force, has said, though much like LaTulippe, Dr. Atlas has also faced intense scrutiny and criticism.
